If you're like me you've tried at least a dozen products over the years promising to make your hair grow longer, stronger and healthier. If you're anything like me you've also never seen those results from any of the many products you've tried. After years of searching for the answer I finally understand what I've been doing wrong all this time. I was focusing on treating the outside of my hair and not the inside.
Ok, You're probably wondering "How the heck am I supposed to treat the inside of my hair?" But rest assured the answer is simpler than it sounds.
The secret to hair growth is not only about what you put on your hair, but also involves what you put in your body! Your hair (also your skin and nails) is a reflection of your inner health. If your hair is shiny and healthy your body is probably in good health and you have the right balance of vitamins and minerals in your body. If your hair is dull, thin, or breaking that may be a sign that your health is not as good as it should be. For instance, people who suffer from malnutrition often have thinned and brittle hair. This is because the hair is not getting adequate amounts of the essential vitamins the body needs in order to grow long and healthy hair. If you enhance your diet with healthy foods that include protein, Omega fatty acids, and lots of green veggies your hair will flourish. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water to make sure that your body is hydrated.
In addition to eating the right foods for health you will also need to take care of your respiratory health and avoid stress. Getting adequate exercise ensures that all of your body's functions are working perfectly in sync with one another. When your body is functioning at its peak performance level your hair, skin and nails reflect your inner health.
Stress can also be an enemy to hair growth. The hormones that are released during times of stress can be extremely bad for our health over time. Stress is a natural part of life and our bodies are prepared to handle a small amount of it, but continued stress over a long period of time can damage our bodies to the point of no return. The best way to avoid these effects is to find ways to relax during the day. Find your relief. Whether it's taking a long walk every night, playing cards with the family, or meditating for an hour a day everyone needs to have their anti-stress moment each day.
With a combination of these healthy habits and a great hair-care regimen you're hair is sure to grow longer, shinier, and healthier.
