Before you go down the details of the table setting at the reception, and before you consider moving around the seating plan and preparing your "Thank You" cards, here's something that is worth worrying about - the hair. It is one thing to think that you can simply gather it all up like other brides you've seen before, right? So why sweat it out? Because you don't want to be regretting once the photos roll around and you see the updo mismatched with the gown.

The bridal hair is tricky especially during the planning period. The small details will do wonders for your photos with your hubby, and by photos we are talking about the close up shots which are to be hung at your living room wall. Yes, since it is going to be treasured for a lifetime you wouldn't want your crowning glory to look like it's all jumbled up. Here's the proper way of doing hairdos for the big day.

Preferably 6 months before the wedding day, visit your hairstylist and plan everything out. Which hair styles are you leaning towards to? What 'do would suit your gown and your wedding theme? Would you be needing a trim, a touch up on highlights or a treatment weeks before the wedding? What bridal accessory would look good with the chosen style? Also, invest on a great haircut while the wedding is still far away. A great foundation means that the wedding hairdo will also be great as well.

Follow the hair care regimen given by your hairdresser to achieve that million-dollar shine on the wedding day. After going through the hairdo with a professional, get to decide whether to keep your veil on during the reception. Removing it would mean that a retouch is a must or better yet have a completely different hairstyle if time would allow it. It's your day after all, go and look fabulous!

Listed below are hairdo don'ts that you should know in order to have that perfect wedding hairstyle you've always dreamed of.

DON'T use hair products which are not familiar to you or your stylist.

DON'T get a haircut at least a month before the wedding.

DON'T dye your own hair at home. Even if you use dozens of mirrors to see the back of your head, it's not worth the risk.

DON'T wash your hair right before it gets styled. Also avoid conditioners, hair sprays won't work their magic against slippery locks.

DON'T choose accessories which are too heavy for the hairdo and don't overdo the accessories either.

DON'T put too much product on your hair - we are going for shiny, not dripping wet.

DON'T get styled too early for the ceremony. Maintaining the perfect 'do for hours will get you nothing but sore neck muscles and back pain.

DON'T allow other people to talk you into changing your hairstyle unless you truly love it.

DON'T make drastic hairstyle changes 3 months before the wedding.

DON'T experiment on the day itself. Glitters, hair extensions, clip ons and curling irons may all be tempting but then practice makes perfect. The hairstyle you practiced on will be the perfect one for you.
