Has your daughter ever come home or woken up with a mass of unruly tangles that you thought that your only option was to cut them out? I know I have faced this many times with my oldest daughter, AnnaLisa, age 5. The last time I decided that I was going to curl her hair in rollers I used a lot of styling products to keep the curls in for when she went to school. Well by the time I went to pick her up from school her hair was a royal mess. All the beautiful ringlet curls had amounted themselves into one giant knot. I thought I was going to have to cut all of the poor child's hair off it was so bad!!
I then stopped and thought for a moment and went through my vast knowledge of home remedies for hair care that I had been recently studying and remembered that mayonnaise is a great conditioner for split ends and bad tangles. Well as soon as my family got home I went to work on making her hair pack to save her beautiful blond hair. I took her to the bathroom and wet her hair and the proceeded to paint the mayo mix I had made into her hair. I had her hang her head over the bathtub since it is a rather messy process. After I got the mayo worked all throughout her hair I then wrapped it in Saran Wrap to let the heat from her body warm the mayo up to help it release all the tangles better. I also put a shower cap on her head after the Saran Wrap to keep it from dripping on the carpets. 15 - 20 minutes later I took her back in the bathroom and rinsed all the mayo out and washed with a mild shampoo so it wouldn't smell later. We also used her normal conditioner to help it even further. I then took a wide tooth comb and was able to save her hair thanks to the Mayo hair pack that I made.
The reason why the mayo hair pack was able to save her hair is from the ingredient properties in the mayo formula itself that I made. If you make your own, which is much better for your hair, you will know exactly what is in it.
Here is the recipe and directions for the "No More Messy Tangles Hair Pack"
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg
If you mix all these ingredients in your food processor or use a stick blender and blend until a thick creamy consistency.
Put mayo in hair until all the way through the hair.
Wrap your head in Saran Wrap and a shower cap to allow it to heat up and so it doesn't drip. Allow it to sit for 10 - 20 minutes depending on how bad the tangles are.
Rinse your hair after the time is up and wash as you normally would using a gentle shampoo.
This is a sure fire way to control those unruly tresses on your hair or your child's. I would not recommend this if you have an allergy to eggs.
