Here's how to French braid hair. Wash your hair and dry it. Brush well to remove all tangles and snarls. Then follow this simple step by step process.

1. Brush your hair back.

2. Now take a section of the hair from where you want to start the braid and separate it into three parts. Like you would for a normal braid.

3. Make one cross of the normal braid by moving the right most strand over the center strand and then the left most strand over the new center strand.

4. Now transfer all the strands to your left hand, but take care that you don't mix the strands together. Put each strand in one separate slot separated by the fingers.

5. Pick up a strand of hair from the right side of the head with your right index finger or thumb and add it to the strand of hair that is now to the extreme right.

6. Now cross the right strand over the center strand.

7. Pull neatly.

8. Now transfer all the strands to your right hand. Again take care that you don't mix the strands together. Put each strand in one separate slot separated by the fingers.

9. Next pick up a strand up hair from the left side your right index finger or thumb and add it to the strand on the extreme left.

10. Now cross the left strand over the center strand.

11. Pull neatly.

12. Now repeat the process from step 4 to 11 till there is no more hair to add. Now simply braid the rest of your hair.

You are ready to tie your French braid.
