Hair is important. Hair is your crowning glory. The way you style your hair is one of the most eloquent aspects of our body vocabulary. The better you treat your hair, the easier it will be to grow and the better it will look. Some women favor very long hair and resist the idea of frequent cuts, but skipping hair cuts in order to grow your hair out is actually self-defeating. If you take good care of your hair, you may not need to get it cut more than twice a year. Sleep with a satin scarf or sleep cap on your head or with a satin pillow case. This helps avoid split ends caused by the rubbing of your hair against a "rough" cotton pillow case. It also avoids moisture being wicked out of your hair into your cotton pillow case.

Wash your hair no more often than every week to week and a half. After shampooing, rinse your hair with cool water to seal moisture in the hair shafts. Coloring you hair can be very damaging. To distribute the natural oils in your hair, bend over and brush your scalp and hair from back to front until the scalp tingles; then massage the scalp with your fingertips. Towel-dry your hair thoroughly before using a blow dryer. Avoid damaging your hair with too much heat. Avoid using a brush on wet hair because it is subject to breakage. Comb out snarls. Do a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment once a month. Massage your scalp on a regular basis to promote circulation and oil production. Avoid overuse of products with mineral oil or petroleum.

Always use a leave-in conditioner after washing your hair. Use a coated rubber band or a soft hair tie to secure ponytails and the ends of a braid to reduce the stress on the hair. If your hair is prone to buildup from conditioners, styling gel, or hair spray, mix 1 tablespoon baking soda with your regular shampoo once a week. Rinse and dry as usual. Eat a proper diet. Vitamins and protein are essential for proper hair growth. Use gel after a braid is finished to smooth down loose or uncontrolled hairs. Apply it to your fingertip or to the end of a hairpin. Use gel to control hair when you want a "wet" affect. Apply gel sparingly to your hair once styled. If you want a soft finish but need to control the hair. Use hair spray.

Hair Care Tips

1. Protect your hair with hair care products that contain sunscreen.

2. Use regular hair rollers, winding hair loosely around them.

3. Avoid pulling back your hair tightly.

4. For shiny hair apply besan in the hair and wash it with water drained from the cooked rice.

5. Add a lemon peel to a 'shikakai' and 'amla' mixture while washing your hair.

6. Wash hair with tea once in a week.

7. Eat a proper diet.

8. Always use a wide tooth comb and try to gently detangle your hair.

Over the years I have tried several different deep conditioners, homemade as well as store bought. The store bought conditioners are generally less expensive, last longer and are less messy, but, the majority of them did not leave my hair as soft and manageable as I prefer; they also have a chemical smell to them.

Homemade deep conditioners are usually made of items you find in the grocery store. In my many experiments with using them, I have noticed a dramatic difference between outcome of store bought conditioners, such as softens, manageability, shine and overall healthy appearance. The concerns I have with the homemade conditioners are they are really expensive to make, can get really messy when applying, really only last for the one application, and sometimes even if you use the exact same ingredients, they outcome may be slightly different; I've also had people complain about feeling as if they wasted valuable food when using homemade deep conditioners.

I would recommend experimenting with homemade deep conditioners, but personally, I would never make this my only form of conditioning my hair, because I am one of those people that would prefer to eat my food. Here are a few recipes to try. Feel free to tweak them to your liking.

1 small jar of real mayonnaise, 1/2 of an avocado ....

Mix with your hands or with a hand held mixer in a medium bowl. After applying to towel dried hair, place a shower cap on the hair. For a more deep conditioning apply a hot towel around the cap; let sit for 20 minutes then rinse. You can also do a deep conditioning with mayonnaise by itself. Just remember to use real mayonnaise and not salad dressing.

1 avocado

1 can coconut milk

Mash avocado and slowly add coconut milk until smooth and the consistency of hair conditioner. Work through hair to ends. Rinse after 15 minutes then shampoo....

1 teaspoon baby oil

1 egg yolk

1 cup water

Beat the egg yolk until it's frothy, add the oil then beat again. Add to the water. Massage into the scalp and throughout your hair. Rinse well

1/2 a banana,

1/4 avocado,

1/4 cantaloupe,

1 tablespoon wheat germ oil and

1 tablespoon plain yogurt

For extra conditioning, squeeze in the contents of a vitamin E capsule. Leave in hair for 15 minutes. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix with hand held mixer. Continue until mix is slightly thicker than yogurt. Apply to towel dried hair. Rinse well.

Hair loss afflicts thousands of men and makes them feel insecure and embarrassed. Most men with hair loss would part with their expensive cars, boats, or other prized possessions for more hair. This was revealed by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery after its national survey. It shows that men value their hair and would go to great lengths to restore it. So what can you do if you are one of the men losing their hair? Well, you can try these time tested fast hair growth tips for male hair loss restoration.

Medical Checkup

The first sensible action is to determine the cause of your hair loss soonest. Hair loss in males can have several causes and underlying reasons. Only after you find out the reason can you choose the best hair loss treatment and product.

Change Medications

Medications for arthritis, migraine headache and some other medical conditions can cause hair loss. So do some medical treatments such as chemotherapy. Check with your doctor the possibilities of alternative medicines and medical procedures which don't cause hair loss as a side effect. You can then apply the other quick hair growth tips suggested here to help regrow the hair.

Stress Management

Stress, whether mental or physical, has long been associated with hair loss. Extreme stress such as a surgery or serious illness can result in a sudden hair loss. Fortunately, the hair will normally regrow within a few months after the stressful event is over.

Stress in daily life can also cause hair loss. You have to strike a balance between work and recreation to relieve from daily stress. Exercise regularly. Take proper rest with adequate sleep. These measures help reduce stress, and put your body in a healthier state more conducive to increase hair growth.

Proper Hair Care

Another fast hair growth tip is to care for your hair properly. Improper perming, bleaching and dyeing will damage the hair. Grooming wet hair can stretch and break it so don't style your hair until it's dry. Keep the hairdryer on a low setting else you might overheat and harm your hair. Of course it is better to air-dry your hair where possible.

Appropriate hair styling helps in hair growth too. Don't tease or pull your hair with styling like ponytails or cornrows. Teasing and pulling strain and break the hair. Wear a loose hair style that won't strain your hair instead. As long as your hair follicles aren't damaged, the hair should grow back after you stop or cut down the hair-damaging activities.

Hair Growth Vitamins

Proper nutrition is essential for fast hair growth. Magnesium, zinc, iron, vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids and other nutrients are responsible for natural hair growth. Hair loss is likely if these are deficient for whatever reason.

When you take the next meal or snack, keep a few key nutrition principles in mind: Eat a variety of foods while avoiding foods high in sugar or fat; choose natural and lightly processed foods; and don't over cook. Follow these simple rules to supply your body with adequate protein, useful carbohydrates, and a good balance of dietary fats. All of which promote healthy hair growth.

quick and easy way to supplement your body with the hair growth nutrition is a well-balanced multi-vitamin and mineral product. There are also specially formulated vitamins for faster hair growth. These hair growth vitamins are usually a combination of amino acids, biotin, vitamin B6, vitamin E, and zinc. Taking hair growth vitamin is a good way towards faster hair growth and also hair strengthening.

Scalp Massage

Scalp massage is one more tip for faster hair growth. It stimulates the hair follicles and unclogs any blocked oil glands in the scalp. Washing the scalp with care serves the same purpose to remove oil, dead skin and other debris clogging the follicles and interfering with healthy hair growth. You can enhance the cleansing process of scalp massage and shampooing with olive oil. Follow a certain procedure of applying the olive oil to more effective cleansing and you can increase hair growth.

Hair loss is a distressing experience that harms a man's self-esteem, so he can't wait to see any progress when it comes to regaining his hair. You need to realize though that natural hair growth is a process that takes time. Getting frustrated at the slow process won't help. Instead, go for a medical checkup to determine the best course of action. Then eat right, manage your stress, massage your scalp and follow the other fast hair growth tips describe in here. Keep at these simple changes and the result may surprise you in a few months.

Having access to useful black women hair care tips is a must if you want to create a head of hair you can be proud of. Here are some things you can do to make sure your hair is getting the best care possible to encourage health and growth.

1. Wash Your Hair Regularly

Your hair needs moisture and the only way to get it is by washing and conditioning your hair on a regular basis. While washing twice a week is best (doing a conditioner wash one of the times), at the very least you should wash and condition one per week.

2. Deep Condition With Moisture And Protein

Strength and flexibility are the two cornerstones of health for your hair. Too much or too little of one or the other is a bad thing for your hairs health and growth.

Learn how to listen to your hair and know what it needs from week to week. Follow up with a protein and moisture treatment (which should always be done on the same day) or just a moisturizing treatment (which can be done by on its own).

3. Treat Your Hair Gently

In its natural state, black hair looks strong, tough and able to stand up to anything however nothing could be further from the truth. Kinky textured hair is actually the weakest of all hair types because the structure of the hair isn't the same along the length of the hair. Because of this, it's very important to be gentle and patient when dealing with the hair.

Rather than tearing through knots and tangles, apply some extra conditioner, use an extra large toothed comb and put aside an hour or so to take care of your hair on wash day.

Years ago hair care products primarily catered to helping consumers manage their different hair types with basic choices that ranged from dry, oily or normal. Today, you can find products that address just about every hair care issue imaginable!

But despite the variety in products, product innovation has been long overdue. Slow initiatives by leading brands are giving private label manufacturers the opportunity to spearhead innovations in the hair care industry and meet eager consumer demands.

Factors Driving Innovations in the Hair Care Industry

Though men and women between the age of 14 and 29 make up the target audience for innovative products, consumer demand for new products runs across a diverse range of demographics.

Factors that drive growth include:

Americans are more style-conscious today than ever! According to Datamonitor, a global leader in providing premium global business information, "Around two thirds of global consumers believe it is an important part of their beauty regime." (1) This includes a diverse range of demographics from young teens to baby boomers to the elderly.
As Americans continue to grow as a multi-cultural society, the need for customizable ethnic products has risen. Various ethnic groups are seeking out more products that address their personal needs. For instance, while African-Americans make up only 13 percent of the American population, they comprise about 30% of the product purchasing audience, according to a 2007 report from Mintel International, a market research agency based in Chicago. (2) The increasing population of the Hispanic community presents another opportunity for manufacturers to meet the hair care needs of ethnic communities.
Growing interest in natural and organics trends have created more consumer demand for innovative natural hair care products. According to global market experts, Gerson Lehrman Group, "The millennial generation likes to use private label products with natural ingredients because they see infusions of botanicals and other natural ingredients as credible, responsible ways to nurture hair." (3) Such interest also extends to hair, skin and nail vitamins.
Trends in health and nutrition have created a growing demand for hair care supplements that nutritionally target hair care. Hair quality reflects the nutritional condition of the body. If the body is well nourished, it will result in hair that is strong and healthy with a silky shine to it. Developing research on nutrients and how they impact hair growth and texture has led to innovations in nutritional supplements for hair care.

Innovations in Nutritional Supplements for Hair Care

Lack of certain nutrients may lead to frizzy and brittle hair or hair that tends to be oily and limp. Until recently, the focus was on external applications such as shampoos, conditioners and gels. Innovations in supplements for hair care now address common hair problems by filling nutritional gaps in the diet:

Thin hair. Lack of protein in the diet may lead to thinning hair. Amino acids, such as cysteine, can help to stimulate hair growth and strength. Bromelain, an enzyme derived from pineapples helps to digest protein and may be included in quality supplements.

Graying of hair and hair loss can be controlled by Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), B6, Vitamin B12, biotin, inositol and folic acid.

Oily hair is usually the result of overworking sebaceous glands. A healthy scalp can be nutritionally supported by taking Vitamins A, E, and B3.

Dry hair may be restored by supplementing with iron and zinc.

Required minerals for healthy hairs

Vitamin A is necessary for hairs as it keeps hair roots lubricated so it is beneficial for hair follicles. You can get vitamin through milk, green vegetables and fruits.

Vitamin c is responsible for the development of healthy collagen, which is necessary to hold body tissues together. Insufficient of vitamin c causes split ends and hair breakage. One can avoid these by taking sufficient amount of vitamin c which is available in citrus fruits like lemon.

Vitamin B is required to grow hairs. These are found in whole grains, fresh fruit and milk. It is water soluble which means that they do not build up in body. Vitamins B3 improves blood circulation and B5 may stop hair loss and helps for hair regrowth. Vitamin B6 and B12 also helps for healthy hair growth

Vitamins E are an antioxidant that stimulates the scalp by increasing blood circulation. An increase in blood circulation makes more nutrients available to the hair follicles so they can grow stronger and healthier hair. You can also supply vitamin E through coconut oil and almond oil. Almond oil is more rich then coconut oil.

Smoking causes capillaries to contract so less blood can get through to your hair follicles. Less blood means fewer nutrients for healthy hair growth so it will be good for health as well as for hair if you don't smoke cigarette.

Hair forms a beautiful part of human body. All human beings wish to have strong and healthy hair and people often go to any extent to have a beautiful crowning glory. Hair treatments and hair specialization has become a multi million dollar industry today. But even with the development of modern techniques, hair loss has become a very big problem with many people. In Ayurveda, hair is considered as the excretory product of the bones, which is one among the Dhatus. It also advocates application of oil everyday especially on the head, ears and feet. From this, one can understand the importance Ayurveda, has given in maintaining healthy hair.

Hair loss is a problem that has become a worldwide phenomenon in modern times. The reason for such a drastic increase in this problem is many.

a. Stress and strain of the modern life: - Unlike olden times stress is more with today's life. Tension causes hair loss. Besides other than the courses many beauty parlors offer, people have no time for elaborate hair care that was done years before.

b. Excessive use of chemicals as in hair coloring, dyeing etc.: - With the passage of time instead of using the tested and tried way of using herbs, people are running around for the short time treatment. They are on the lookout for more results in less time and hence undergo many capsule treatments. Most of these use chemical components, which may cause allergy in some people. Besides extensive use of chemicals can harm the hair. It is said that if chlorine water is used for washing hair, then we have to wash it again with good drinking water so as to wash of the residue. Many people while going to a particular city complain of hairball due to chlorine water. Chemicals used for coloring, dyeing etc plays a main role in hair loss

c. Diseases such as anaemia, allopacia etc also is the reason for hair fall. Apart from these, constant use of drugs in many serious ailments also results in hair fall. After surgery some people complain of hair fall.

d. Heriditary: - This is also a main factor. Nothing can be done for the hereditary baldness. To an extent treatment can be provided for hair loss. But if the problem is hereditary then chances for hair growth in a vast scale is negligible.

e. Carelessness: - Carelessness also causes falling of the hair. Tying the hair for many days without proper combing, bathing in hot water can cause hair loss. Besides if left without proper oil application hair strands become dry and often there are chances for breakage of hair. Tying the hair wet can cause broken ends.

These are but a few of the reasons for hair loss. Now we can consider the main remedies for this problem.

Previously people used to have dark, lustrous and abundant hair because they used to pamper hair a lot. In this modern life people can overcome the problem of hair loss and can have good hair if they spare some time for its care. Applying some mild oil, which is slightly heated, and massaging it all over the scalp through gentle motion of the finger improve the blood supply and enhances the growth of hair. Besides instead of using shampoo and other chemicals it is often advised to use some herbal concotions, which are really good for the hair. These products are available in the market. Ayurveda offers many such good medicines for this problem. Henna is a good conditioner. Include healthy food in the diet. Instead of using the hair drier, we can use some medicated fumes, which will help to dry the air naturally and will not have any side effects. Our grandmothers are all very particular about this. Including fresh leafy vegetables and lots of water is also advised. Amla is good for the hair. Honey can also be used to wash the hair. Kanhunni is an herb, which helps in hair growth. There are many oils in Ayurveda, which uses this herb. Proper care also is necessary. Washing the hair daily reduces the accumulation of dirt and grime in the hair. Once the hair is dry, gently comb the hair. It is good to run the comb through the scalp without getting knots.

In general, hair loss is a big problem. If we have the time and proper care, then we can overcome this problem.

One of the essential fatty acids that our bodies need to take in is omega 3. This fatty acid can not be produced by the body. Therefore, human beings need to consume food products that naturally have omega 3 such as fish. Omega 3 needs to be taken to improve health.

One of the useful effects of omega 3 is treating some illnesses and conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, some eating disorders, burns, skin disorders, IBD, asthma, and some cancers. Omega 3 is also believed to help in weight loss. And, omega 3s can also help in maintaining healthy skin and hair.

These crucial fatty acids can now be taken as supplements through forms such as flax oil and fish oil. These oils are usually available in capsule form in exact dosage that the body needs. People with skin and hair problems can take encapsulated fish and flax oil while maintaining a diet that still has omega 3 foods included.

What are the benefits of fish and flax oils to the skin and hair?

When it comes to the skin, omega 3s in the form of fish oil or flax oil can help maintain its good and healthy state. One of the major concerns in the skin is aging. Wrinkles tend to appear in the face when humans age. Omega 3 increases the level of essential fatty acids in the body that helps in the prevention of wrinkle formation. Aside from preventing wrinkles, omega 3 makes the skin rosier which is a sign of healthy skin.

Without these fatty acids, the skin may turn dull and eventually lead to eczema and psoriasis. Taking in enough these vital supplements can help maintain healthy skin thus helping to prevent many skin conditions.

When it comes to the hair, omega 3s can also prevent many hair problems. This fatty acid can help prevent and even reverse hair loss which is one appearance challenge that most do not want to experience.

These fatty acids can also help prevent the inflammation of the hair follicles or what is better known as folliculitis. Dandruff can also be largely prevented with a diet that includes the omega oils. An added benefit of such a diet is that it also makes hair shinier and keeps it more moisturized.

What's good about fish oil and flax oil is that they can give out very satisfying results for your skin and hair. You do not have to spend a great deal of money to undergo treatments that are sometimes painful and have a lot of setbacks.

It is not always correct to say that beauty is pain because there are still ways of maintaining a healthy, beautiful appearance without experiencing pain - either in your wallet or on a physical level. You also do not have to take expensive prescriptions that sometimes have side effects that can be troubling, and at times, even dangerous.

Opting to wear your hair in Micro Braids can be a good way to protect your hair from every day styling and heat stresses. They not only look beautiful but they can be easy to maintain if you follow the right regime. However, there are few main concerns that have to be addressed when deciding to wear your hair in almost invisible braids.

Hair Loss

Fear of hair loss is a real concern as braids that are not correctly attached or cared for can have disastrous consequences for the overall health of your hair. The best steps to avoid this are to choose a professional and experienced braider who will assess the condition of your hair before they begin.

Secondly they should ensure that the braids are not too tightly attached, especially around the hairline to avoid breakage and hair stress, they should also be able to advise you on the day-to-day care of your new style.

Talk to your stylist about the size of braids you want before they begin, the smaller the braids the longer they will take to remove when the time comes. Depending on the size of braids you choose, application can take from 4-16 hours, so be prepared.

Caring for Micro Braids

Now that you have invested both time and money in getting your hair braided, you need to look after them to keep them looking good and avoid hair damage. The best routine is to make sure you use a braid spray which does not contain alcohol or oils that can cause product build up. Use sparingly and only when needed to perk up the shine and moisture levels of your braids.

When washing, braid hair into one plait and wash gently with a mild diluted shampoo once a fortnight to avoid product build up. Gently squeeze out excess water with a towel and allow to dry naturally. Always sleep with hair in a loose pony tail or plait to avoid tangling and use a sleep cap to protect your hairline.

Braid Removal

Removing your micro braids can be one of the most time-consuming and tiring processes imaginable when it comes to braid hair care. Braid removal can sometimes take almost as long as having them applied depending on their size. If this step is not done correctly, it is the stage that can result in the most hair breakage.

The best advice is to get your braids taken out professionally, ideally by the salon who braided them. However, this may not be an option for some braid wearers as the cost can often be a high percentage of what was paid initially for application.

For the best home removal process it is best to allow 3-6 hours and if possible enlist the help of a friend to speed up the process. If you do not want to reuse the braid hair and for swiftness, it is best to clip off the ends of the extension hair about 2 inches away from where your natural hair ends.

On wet or dry hair (your personal choice) gently unravel the hair to the roots and slip the extension off the natural hair.

Make sure to gently massage and de-tangle each released braid before moving on to the next to avoid tangling and easier combing once removal is complete. Once all the braids are removed, gently comb the hair with a wide tooth comb and then shampoo and deep condition.

Never leave your braids in for longer than 2-3 months depending on your rate of hair growth as braids left in for longer, will most likely become dreadlocks at removal time. This is most often due to product build up as well as the natural shedding of hair.

For those wanting the fast, stunning and bestmicrobraids.com best micro braids without the cost and time consuming process of application and painful removal, there is an option visit bestmicrobraids.com bestmicrobraids.com for details.

Of all the physical changes we experience as human beings perhaps no other is more misunderstood, been the subject of greater deliberate misinformation, has the potential to evoke disproportionate anxiety in a sufferer, or attracted more unscrupulous operators than hair loss.

Even the great Julius Caesar was said to be sensitive about his balding scalp, and wore a laurel of oak leaves to both hide hair loss and denote his status as Rome's premier citizen.

Obviously hair has long ceased to be merely protection and insulation for our skulls and brain. It's an intrinsic part of our body image - how we see ourselves and wish others to see us. Our hair defines our vitality, virility, personality and sexuality. Unlike no other part of our body, the versatile, regenerative qualities of our hair allow us a certain 'chameleon-like' ability to continually change our appearance - and often how we feel about ourselves - by altering its length, color, style, and wave.

It's little wonder why many people become anxious, distressed or even depressed at the prospect of losing their 'crowning glories'. This is often the time they become vulnerable to the promises of glib but unprincipled peddlers of bogus hair restoration programs.

Let's now examine what they are.

happinesslifetime.com Hair Loss Treatments ...

History is replete with bizarre remedies for regrowing hair; the rough-tongued 'lick' of a dairy cow, manure poultices, or a brisk daily rubbing of one's scalp with an onion or garlic clove! Absurd as those practices sound today, desperate, follicle challenged people still appear willing to invest substantial amounts of money for equally dodgy 'cures' such as battery-operated bio-stimulating helmets, oriental herbs worn under a 'cling-wrap' scarf, and even silt supposedly from the River Jordan!

At present, the more well known hair loss companies build their 'treatment' programmes around some form of Minoxidil-based topical solution. Minoxidil is presently still the only topical lotion medically approved to stimulate follicle hair growth, and a number of commercially available brands can be purchased 'over the counter' at pharmacies.

To give the impression their treatment programs are somehow unique, 'special' shampoos, cleansers, toners, scalp stimulators etc. are included as 'essentials' to treatment success. These products have little if any affect on hair regrowth, and seemingly are only there to justify the exorbitant cost these companies demand.

For many years much has been made about the need to increase scalp blood flow, the rationale being that the more nutrients the hair follicles receive the better the hair growth. In one sense this is true, and for two reasons: the hair follicles that become progressively miniaturized in androgenetic alopecia do have a decreased blood supply in comparison to unaffected follicles elsewhere on the scalp. Secondly, hair growth and quality is affected by one's nutritional status. However hair will not cease shedding or effectively regrow just by improving scalp circulation. In all cases the underlying cause of the problem, be it nutritional, metabolic, or the hormonal conversion of androgenetic alopecia, must be addressed in order to correct the condition.

happinesslifetime.com Hair Transplanting ...

Surgical hair restoration (transplants) is a genuine and permanent option to help increase scalp hair density or replace hair follicles destroyed from ciccatricial (scarring) processes.

Recognised transplant surgeons now use very advanced micro and or mini-grafting procedures (1-3 hairs per graft), and the old "toothbrush look" of plug grafting should not be a consideration.
