Frizz, curls and crazy locks are a few of the risks of living in a humid climate. Once the moisture in the air reaches above fifty percent, that wet air has the potential to ruin your look by making curls curlier and making any dry and brittle areas frizz and crack.

Dry and damaged hair frizzes in an instant when the weather is damp. Keep this under control by getting regular trims so that your hair stays healthy and there are no dry or dead ends to wreck your smooth style. If you live in a humid climate such as Florida and the Caribbean then take the weather into consideration when choosing your style.

Consider a short bob that you can maintain to a sleek look. Or consider a longer cut that can be pulled back or up in a pony tail on exceptionally humid days.

Wash and condition hair every two days. Before styling, wash and condition your hair. Avoid breakage by using gentle washing and not combing the air while sopping wet. Don't rub the hair dry with a towel. Instead gently squeeze the hair into a towel then let it air dry for a few minutes before moving on to the next steps. Unless your hair is exceptionally oily or you spend a lot of time sweating at the gym then you should avoid washing your hair every day. Over washing can dry out the hair and make it more susceptible to frizzing.

Try an anti-frizz product. There are several anti-frizz creams and gels on the market that will help your hair keep the moisture locked inside. Apply a dollop to the palm of your hand then smooth the anti-frizz cream into your hair. Finger comb the product into your hair.

Comb and section using a wide tooth comb. Gather some pins or clips and a wide tooth comb. Gently comb your hair to remove any tangles or knots. Then divide the hair into sections separating the sides and top from the back.

Blow dry in sections on cool heat. Set your hairdryer onto the coolest setting and attach a diffuser. Starting with the bottom section, blow dry the hair. For straightening, use a flat brush to brush the hair straight from underneath as you hold the dryer on the top side. Comb and dry the hair sections in slow, strong strokes to straighten and remove any frizz. If your hair is curly then it helps to make an investment in your hair care tools. The combs and brushes you use can damage your hair if they are too harsh or brittle so talk with your stylist about the best tools to suit your personal hair type.

Finish with anti-humectants spray. Once the hair is dry and styled the way you want, spray with an anti-humectant hairspray for hold and protection against the humidity. Once you step outside you'll be glad you took the extra step to shield your hair from the moisture in the air.

You don't have to fight frizz and crazy curls just because the air is humid. Get your cut and style under control so your hair looks sleek and shiny regardless of the weather conditions
