Most consumers are unaware of the potentially dangerous chemicals found in everyday cosmetics and personal care products. Chemicals such as Propylene - Glycol (anti-freeze), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and petroleum are all common ingredients in most household and personal care products, and have proven to be dangerous upon exposure.

Other common and dangerous chemicals include phthalates, Polypropylene Glycol, Dioxanes, Formaldehyde, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Aluminum, Monoethanolamine, and Glycerin, Petrolatum, Methanol, Isopropanol, and Benzophenone-3. It is recommended that before purchasing household products, hair care, happinesslifetime.com skin care or personal care products, consumers read the labels to insure these chemicals are not found.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has given strict handling procedures for the afore mentioned chemicals. For instance, Propylene- Glycol (commonly known as anti-freeze) is found in many shampoos, conditioners, hair color products, moisturizers, styling gels, face cleansers, mascara, foundation, anti-aging creme and even in many food items. According to OSHA, when handling Propylene - Glycol in chemical laboratories, the following protective equipment must be worn: splash goggles, laboratory coat, vapor respirator, gloves and an approved/certified respirator or equivalent. When handling this product in the event of a large spill, OSHA also requires a full suit, and boots in addition. According to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product "A self contained breathing apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product. Suggested protective clothing might not be sufficient; consult a specialist BEFORE handling this product."

Unfortunately, there are few regulatory laws in place to protect consumers from harmful chemicals which decrease the efficiency of a product and increase long term health risks. Scholar and researcher Sabrina McCormick, Ph.D. commented on a recent study, saying that people should reduce their exposure to many cosmetics and toiletries and urges policymakers to strengthen regulations. "We must focus on prevention by demanding safer products, reducing our exposure to chemicals and urging our policymakers to ban cancer-causing chemicals in everyday products." said McCormick. "Women and girls should not have to check the ingredients in every stick of lipstick and each bottle of moisturizer. Better regulation to ensure that these products are safe would go a long way to reducing the incidence of breast cancer."

Very few companies actually produce quality products for a decent price; Trivani International® is one of them. They are network marketing company who sells hair care and personal care products and implements a "do no harm" philosophy. Their products and formulas contain no known harmful ingredients, and their products are environmentally friendly and are never tested on animals. "The number one reason our business has been so successful," says Leslie DeeAnn, Owner and Founder of Trivani International®. "is because we have a quality product, and were sincerely care about the health of our consumers."
