If you're like me you've tried at least a dozen products over the years promising to make your hair grow longer, stronger and healthier. If you're anything like me you've also never seen those results from any of the many products you've tried. After years of searching for the answer I finally understand what I've been doing wrong all this time. I was focusing on treating the outside of my hair and not the inside.

Ok, You're probably wondering "How the heck am I supposed to treat the inside of my hair?" But rest assured the answer is simpler than it sounds.

The secret to hair growth is not only about what you put on your hair, but also involves what you put in your body! Your hair (also your skin and nails) is a reflection of your inner health. If your hair is shiny and healthy your body is probably in good health and you have the right balance of vitamins and minerals in your body. If your hair is dull, thin, or breaking that may be a sign that your health is not as good as it should be. For instance, people who suffer from malnutrition often have thinned and brittle hair. This is because the hair is not getting adequate amounts of the essential vitamins the body needs in order to grow long and healthy hair. If you enhance your diet with healthy foods that include protein, Omega fatty acids, and lots of green veggies your hair will flourish. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water to make sure that your body is hydrated.

In addition to eating the right foods for health you will also need to take care of your respiratory health and avoid stress. Getting adequate exercise ensures that all of your body's functions are working perfectly in sync with one another. When your body is functioning at its peak performance level your hair, skin and nails reflect your inner health.

Stress can also be an enemy to hair growth. The hormones that are released during times of stress can be extremely bad for our health over time. Stress is a natural part of life and our bodies are prepared to handle a small amount of it, but continued stress over a long period of time can damage our bodies to the point of no return. The best way to avoid these effects is to find ways to relax during the day. Find your relief. Whether it's taking a long walk every night, playing cards with the family, or meditating for an hour a day everyone needs to have their anti-stress moment each day.

With a combination of these healthy habits and a great hair-care regimen you're hair is sure to grow longer, shinier, and healthier.

Providing essential nutrition to the hair is the basic step towards hair care. If you are thinking of taking proper care of your hair, it is very much needful that you should pay your attention towards your diet chart. The basic nutritious elements like proteins, vitamins and minerals are as much essential to your hair as they are needed by the other parts of your body.

The basic nutrition that our hair needs is the supply of proteins. As the hair is mainly formed of proteins therefore the protein supply must always be maintained. Along with that are needed vitamins and minerals. When our diet is insufficient of vitamins we are likely to suffer from hair loss. Among the groups of vitamins the B vitamins are the most essential ones. The lack of B vitamins especially B6, biotin, inositol, and folic acid and minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium, sulfur and zinc are the most likely causes responsible for hair loss.

For the better growth and health of hair vitamins B3 and B5 are especially important. For controlling the thinning of hair certain essential amino acids are helpful. But one thing should always be kept in mind that heavy intake of vitamin supplements may cause adverse effects on the hair. Especially the intake of large doses of vitamin A for a long period of time can trigger hair loss and may even cause complete baldness. Therefore it is essential to maintain the balance of the proportion of the doses of the intake of these vitamins. It is also recommended that to consult your physician before deciding your diet chart.

For the improvement of the hair texture it is essential to provide fatty acids like flaxseed oil, primrose oil, and salmon oil to the hair. They also help in preventing dry and brittle hair. For improving the scalp circulation the supply of 3,000-10,000 mg of vitamin C daily is needed. It is also important for maintaining the capillaries that carry blood to the follicles. On the other hand vitamin E helps in increase in oxygen uptake, which in turn improves circulation to the scalp. It also helps in improving the health and growth of the hair. Starting with the dosage of 400 IU daily and gradually increasing it to 800-1000 IU daily, vitamin E is believed to stimulate hair growth by enhancing the immune function.

The supply of Biotin is also very much important for the hair. Along with providing healthy hair and skin it is also believed to help in preventing hair loss in some men. Good food sources of Biotin include brewer's yeast, brown rice, green peas, lentils, bulgur, sunflower seeds, oats, soybeans and walnuts. A dosage of 50 mg 3 times daily is sufficient to maintain the balance of biotin to the hair.

As stated earlier the hair also needs minerals as well as vitamins and proteins. For stimulating hair growth and having enhancement in the immune function proper supply of the minerals stated above are much important. Therefore, by providing these nutrients in proper proportion we can help our hair to grow healthy and problem free to a great extent.

Hair loss is a normal part of life for everyone - as long as it stays normal and gradual. What about those times when we experience abnormal or more permanent hair loss?

Normal Hair Loss

Normally, about 90% of your hair is growing and 10% is "resting." The resting hair sits for 2-3 months and then falls out and starts bringing in new growth. This is why you can usually pull a few strands out of your head in the shower every day - it's the hair that's leaving to make room for new growth.

Abnormal Hair Loss

There is some abnormal loss that is, technically, normal. For example, many women lose some hair about three months after giving birth. This is normal because the heightened hormone levels produced by pregnancy cause some hair to continue growing even if it wouldn't otherwise. When those hormone levels return to normal, that hair falls out and returns to its normal cycle. Some people also experience lose large amounts of hair after surgery or illness. While this may not be completely normal hair loss, the fact that the body loses hair after experiencing stress is normal.

On the other hand, losing hair for unexplained reasons can also be a sign of something more serious. Hormone problems like overactive thyroid glands, or imbalanced androgen or estrogen levels can cause excessive hair loss. Some children lose hair because of fungal infections of the scalp. It can even occur as an early sign of diabetes or because of a reaction to a certain medicine.

Sometimes people lose hair because of bad hair care. Wearing hair in really tight hair styles (tight braids, cornrows) or using lots of chemicals (perms, hot oil treatments) can cause hair loss that can actually become permanent if it persists. Hair follicles can actually scar and stop growing hair there at all. (Just another reason to be kind to your hair.)

Male and Female-Pattern Baldness

What about normal, more permanent hair loss? Unlike some of the abnormal causes of baldness, permanent-pattern baldness is luck of the draw - if you get the genes for it, you're pretty much sunk (with a few possible exceptions that we'll get to in a minute). This kind of baldness usually starts in the front (receding hair line) or at the top of the head, either in a bald spot or as all-over thinning. Although female-pattern baldness is less common, it does occur, usually as a general thinning rather than as a receding hairline.

There are a couple of possible methods of treating baldness. For men, there is a prescription option called finasteride, or more commonly, Propecia. Most people try the non-prescription drug minoxidil, which is usually sold as Rogaine. This is effective for about 80% of those with male-pattern baldness, but it takes at least 2-4 months to know for sure whether or not it will work. Typically, Rogaine is most effective for bald spots at the top/back of the head and is less effective for receding hair lines. Rogaine for women can also be effective for general thinning, but it may take even longer than Men's Rogaine to be able to tell whether it is going to help.

For the more normal kinds of hair loss, your only worry is that you'll have to keep it all off the bathroom floor. If you have abnormal hair loss, it's probably a good idea to check with your doctor to make sure it isn't hair loss fraught with portent. If it's permanent-pattern baldness, good luck. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones who doesn't care or for whom Rogaine works.

Healthy, beautiful hair is really enviable. Beautiful tresses can attract so much attention not just from men but also from women. Unfortunately, we can't always have a beautiful mane. Sometimes, it is so irritating to go to the mirror and see unruly hair. Bad hair day can really ruin your day. Just imagine having this very important meeting and when you check your appearance in the mirror you see frizzy head.

Snipping the Split-ends

The tips of your hair are turning brown. It almost looks like you have had a dye. But before you flash that smile and think you've saved money on hair color, closely examine your hair. Chances are, you have dry hair and the discoloration at the tips may already be ugly split ends.

Split ends, (or trichoptilosis), happen when the protective cuticle has been stripped away from the ends of hair fibers. This hair problem commonly develops on dry, brittle hair and is caused by excessive dyeing and vigorous brushing. All these traumatize the hair.

But fret not! Nothing is impossible with proper hair care You can easily get rid if those nasty split ends. And you absolutely do not have to spend. In fact, you can do it by yourself.

Simply make sections in your hair. Carefully twist the sections in a gentle downward motion. As you reach the tips of your hair, you will see the split ends stick out. Carefully cut into the twist with sharp scissors. But don't cut right through. Make sure you cut into the thickness to remove the split ends and give the hair a natural layered effect.

Stressed Tress

The key to keeping your hair strong and healthy is to brush carefully. Do not use brushes to untangle wet hair after shampooing. Instead use a wide tooth comb. Also be very choosy with the brushes you use. Choose brushes that have ball tips on the end of the bristles. The ball should be molded into the tips of the bristles not glued to the bristle tips. You can also prevent your hair from drying by giving it a break from all the cosmetic equipment. But if you really cannot live without your hair dryer, then continue - but with caution. Here are tips for best hair care.

TLC for Hair

Choose a mild hair shampoo that you can use everyday.
When scrubbing your hair, use the pad of your fingers---never your nails. You will only hurt your scalp.
Make sure you completely rinse the shampoo from your hair. This will maximize its shine.
Condition your hair after each washing. Hair conditioners make even the most damaged hair shine. This is because conditioners coat each shaft of hair to make it lie flatter and feel silkier and softer.
Have regular trimming sessions with your hair stylist. This will help avoid split ends as you get rid of the oldest and weakest part of the hair - the tips.

Easy does it

It doesn't have to be expensive. It doesn't even have to eat up a lot of your time. It takes very simple ways to achieve a beautiful hair. If you treat your hair well, it will reward your effort by looking good. And while you may not land in the covers of magazines or be offered to do shampoo commercials, at least heads will turn as your glorious hair dances in the wind.

With the type of weather and yes, even lifestyle that we live it is extremely difficult to achieve a glorious, commercial-quality hair. Difficult yes, but impossible? No. Visit healthyfreesamples.info healthyfreesamples.info/ now to grab some free health samples.

Both Andis and BaByliss make top rated hair dryers, so whether it's a ceramic, tourmaline, cheap, travel, lightweight or top-of-the-range appliance you're after, you can rest assured that both companies make a pretty comprehensive range of good quality blow dryers. But, which makes the best ionic hair dryer?

If you're looking to buy a new hair dryer make sure it's ionic. Traditional dryers will dry your hair all right, but they produce lots of positive ions. They are positively charged particles that have been shown to open up the cuticle thereby giving hair split ends, or that that 'frizzy', 'blow-dried' look. Negative ions, on the other hand, are good for hair. The negative ions seal the cuticle making hair shinier and healthier. They also break down water droplets into much smaller droplets that more easily evaporate - cutting down drying time - and the water droplets can also be absorbed into the hair shaft itself, thereby hydrating hair, giving it a smooth, shiny and sleek finish.

Andis has a long history of manufacturing happinesslifetime.com hair care products and still designs and makes its product in the U.S. The company probably manufacturers more models of blow dryers than anyone else - everything from wall mounted, through to travel models. The company hasn't been slow to produce a range of ionic hair dryers and the Andis Colorwaves Pro 1875 Tourmaline Ionic AC is an excellent and popular appliance.

BaByliss is actually a subdivision of Conair and its range of appliances is designed in France. The BaByliss Thermal Ionic dryer is a best seller.

So, how do both of these appliances compare?

On price, the Andis wins, costing only around two-thirds the cost of the BaByliss. If cost is a consideration, you could do far worse than choosing the Colorwaves Pro. While both come with a concentrator nozzle, the Colorwaves Pro also comes with a Pick, which some might find useful. However, the concentrator of the BaByliss is made from ceramic, which is better.

The BaByliss may cost more but you do get a lot more for your money. For instance, the Andis hair dryer comes with a 1875 watt AC motor, which is more powerful than most, but the BaByliss Thermal Ionic comes with a very impressive 2000 watts of power.

Also, you get more heat settings. The Andis comes with 2 speed and 2 heat settings whereas the BaByliss comes with 3 heat and 3 speed settings - the high heat setting is very hot.

When using both dryers I found that I disliked the positioning of the heat/speed buttons on the Andis - they're found on the side of the handle, which is okay if your right-handed, but if you're left-handed I could easily imagine how accidentally turning them on/off could be an issue - until you got used to using it, I suppose. The buttons on the BaByliss are found on the front of the handle, which makes using them so much easier. Both models feature the cool shot button on the front of the handle.

Overall, the BaByliss hair dryer is better, however if you want to save yourself a few dollars, don't mind where the buttons are located on the handle, and don't particularly need a very hot temperature setting, then the Andis hair dryer would be a perfectly good choice.

Follow the links for the bestchoicehairdryer.com/babyliss-hair-dryer.php BaByliss hair dryer and the bestchoicehairdryer.com/andis-hair-dryer.php Andi hair dryer and judge for yourself what is the best hair dryer.

Yes, hair loss and the threat of going bald really can be that scary when you see an ever increasing amount of hair falling from your head. Especially, when it is happening to women, which is becoming more and more prevalent these days.

Probably due to the fast, ever stressful lives' that we all now lead. So, what are the reasons for hair loss in both men and women, and can anything be done to slow down or stop hair loss and is there a cure for baldness?

The reasons for hair loss can be many and varied and also be a combination of many factors of which I will go into more detail later.

Curable?... Yes Certainly, but I believe prevention is much better and easier than cure, as a cure can take some time, up to a year and possibly beyond, depending on the initial cause of the hair loss.

So the moment that you become aware that you are experiencing excessive Hair Loss, you need to act immediately, without panicking or worrying, that will only make things worse!

So, who am I? And what is my knowledge surrounding Hair Loss.

My name is Tony, I am a 47 year old male, with an ample covering of now Gray Hair, although receding slightly at the Temples.

But I firmly believe that I should, by now, have a sizable bald spot on the top of my head, as my Dad did by the time he was 30 and my younger brother has now.

My brother and I are the image of our Father in every way, so it makes sense that I should have followed them both with the baldness.

BUT.!

No way was I going Bald My hair started to recede when I was 20, the alarm bells started to ring in my head and I had the... HELP! I'M LOSING MY HAIR! Feeling.

So what did I do? First, I panicked and paid a fortune going to hair clinics and spending hundreds on- "Miracle Baldness Cures". It took me quite a few years and research to work out that there was no need to spend a fortune on prevention or cure.

I found that all I needed was a herbal shampoo and conditioner which can stimulate hair follicles, I wash my hair every day with one of these shampoos.... .This is important!..... As you don't want days and days of sweat and grease blocking your hair follicles and suffocating them, it is also important, once or twice a day to massage the scalp, only for five minutes or so at a time, and again using a hair growth stimulant.

Also follow a healthy diet and If you smoke then STOP!

It constricts the blood vessels and is detrimental to Hair health.

Believe me,I know how hard it is to stop smoking.

It took me a lot of willpower to eventually kick the habit. But I am so glad now that i managed it.

Causes of Hair Loss:

Hereditary Factors

The Aging Process

Illness and Infectious Diseases

Hormonal Imbalance

Nervous Disorders and Nervous system injury.

Toxic Substances, (For example- Drugs)

Injury and Impairment.

Seborrhoea (excessive Dandruff)... Very Common! And Very curable!

Scalp Infections

Impaired Blood Circulation

Nutritional Inadequacy or deficiency.

So What can I Do?

Firstly, Don't panic and dont spend a fortune on so called "miracle cures".

There are reasonably priced stimulating shampoos, that really do help.

(See my recommendation, below)

Learn to relax, Stop worrying about things, stress is very bad for hair health.

Take more excercise. It improves Blood flow to the hair follicles.

Be Happy and Positive!

Persevere with your daily hair care regime,

(It only takes a few minutes of your time!), and it WILL WORK!

Your Hair Loss will stop! Just follow my advice, it worked for me!!

Ever thought about getting hair color or if you already get hair color, there is no better way to dramatically or subtly change a haircut and hair color then creatively blending in hair highlights and/or hair lowlights to accent your hairstyle.

There are wide-variety of hair coloring techniques and hair foiling techniques, but there is a right way to coloring hair and a wrong way to coloring hair. This is where choosing the right hair salon and hairdresser to get the change that you desire will play a critical role in the process.

Let's just say that not all hair salons and hairdressers are created equally. Many people think that the price they pay for their hair care needs will determine the quality of the hairdresser and service they choose. It's just like everything else in life... some are at the top of the class and some are at the bottom of the class.

Let me take this a step further! You can go to a high-end hair salon, pay a lot of money and leave with an undesirable result. You can also go to a low-end to middle-end hair salon like, The Hair Cuttery, Supercuts or Great Clips, pay a reasonable price and leave with exactly what you wanted.

So how do you choose the right path to get that Striking Hairstyle and Hair Color? Well there are a lot factors to consider, but the simple answer is that it all begins with a Personalized Client Consultation with your current or new hairdresser.

Start out by doing prior research looking through magazines or surfing the internet to find options that you can present at the time of your consultation. Print out pictures or bring magazine pages of your favorite celebrities, so you can visually explain exactly what type of haircut, hair color and hairstyle you are trying to achieve.

Think of this consultation as an interview with your hairdresser, you being the interviewer, but let them lead most of the time. It is important that you establish a mutual rapport. They should ask you simple direct questions such as. Do you have anything specific in mind? What don't you like about your hair color and why? Tell me a little about your lifestyle. Do you work? Does your work require you to travel? Do you consider yourself conservative? You get the picture!

Your hairdresser should confidently discuss each step of the process, including prices and they should put you at ease that they have the experience and expertise to accomplish the work.

Once you feel comfortable that they understand what you want and professionally describe exactly how they are going to creative a special personalized look just for you... you will have cleared a major hurtle in getting that fantastic head-turning new look you desire.
