Sesame sees are of three types: white, red and black. Maximum oil is found in the white seeds, while the oil extracted from black seeds has medicinal properties. The seeds contain 50 to 60 percent oil and, therefore, soften rough skins and encourage the growth of hair. It is also the most beneficial oil base in formulations for massages in paralytic conditions. Apply a liberal amount of sesame seed oil to clean facial skin. Massage gently, leaving the eyes and nostrils clear. Now dip a towel in hot water, wring in out, and place over the face for a few minutes to encourage the oil to soak into the skin. Try to lie down with your feet up, to increase blood flow to your face.

Castor Oil

Olive Oil

1 tablespoon of honey

Further, I need it in a vector format, preferable Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file, but an .eps will do. Artwork must be in layers so that it can be manipulated to fit different sized products."

I included the second paragraph because we (at Pure Wholesale) ask for that specific type of file when receiving artwork from private label clients. Of course, you could also have your new, best friend designer help you with your entire line. I actually got an incredible logo for $100 on my last project. She (the designer) did such a great job that I will absolutely use her again.

These petrochemicals are absorbed through the skin, then down through the organs and tissues. Many believe that long term exposure to these toxins can cause permanent damage anywhere in the body, and yet, governments have sided with big industry to not require them to disclose what these products contain or what they really are. Instead we have big fancy names you can hardly pronounce let alone understand.

The solution? It's not as hard as you think. It's as close as you health food store or even your own fridge. Here are some tips:

1) Buy a natural liquid soap from the health food store. Also purchase some essential oils such as lavender (for all hair types), rosemary, clary sage, cedar wood, birch and peppermint (for hair loss) bergamot, rosewood, eucalyptus etc. Also purchase natural oils such as olive, jojoba, or avocado. Here's what to do; in a clean spray bottle, pour in about ½ a cup of distilled or spring water. Add 1 cup of liquid soap. Then take 2 tsp of your vegetable oil and add 10 to 20 drops of your chosen essential oils. It can be just one or several combined oils. Shake gently. There you have it. Simple as that! (Essential oils always need to be in a vegetable oil base because of its concentration). You should not need a cream rinse after that because oils will be replaced.

2) If you need deep conditioning, try saturating your hair in mayonnaise or warmed olive oil. Wrap tightly and cover with a shower cap and let rest on the hair for approximately 20 minutes, then rinse out. You can also take 2 egg yolks and whisk them until frothy, then add some warm water. Pour over hair and leave on for 2 minutes then rinse well.

3) It's a good idea to do a final rinse on your hair with something acidic such as cider vinegar, lemon juice, beer or even milk. Add any of these ingredients with some water to rinse your hair with to restore the alkaline/acid balance of your hair and scalp, and take off any residue you may have left on your hair.

There are many good natural recipes for healthy hair but these are a few things to get you started in the right direction. Experiment with different essential and vegetable oils to find what you like best. Natural, your body understands, so here's to a good hair day!

We all know the recession is hitting us pretty hard and that does not exclude us ladies who are used to hitting up the salon to get our relaxers and touch ups every 4 to 6 weeks. Nowadays, those trips to get our "hair did" can add up so if have been considering going the DIY route, here are some tips to get you through!

Before I get into the tips, let me just give a little hair info about myself. I have been relaxing my own hair at home for about 3 to 4 years now. I had a bad experience at a salon and just decided that if I wanted it done right, I would at least try to do myself!

So, without further a-due, here we go!

Read! - please, please, please, read all the instructions that come with the relaxer kit you purchased.


Get Greased Up! - make sure that scalp is protected by greasing it first ( I like Bergamont or Blue Magic). This will help protect it through the harsh relaxing process. It will also give you practice parting your hair and finding your scalp even when you can't see it.


Four! - part your hair in fours and apply the relaxing cream section by section. I also suggest smoothing once you have applied relaxer in that section, just in case you don't have time to go back and smooth your hair out later.


Rinse! Rinse! Rinse! - when its time to get that relaxer out, rinse really, really well! I usually rinse for about 4 to 5 minutes. The more I get out initially, the less shampooing I have to do later.


Check your hands! - while shampooing, (especially if you're using a color indicating neutralizing shampoo) I check out the suds on my hands to see if they are still white. If it's not, rinse, lather, and try again!

Relax with a friend! - If you are not that confident to go at this alone, recruit a friend or a family member to be your extra set of eyes and/or hands if need be!
