Women do not usually fear about hair loss since baldness occurs largely on men. However, we should all be aware that baldness in women is not an uncommon occurrence. To know more about hair loss on women, here is a rundown of practical information that will help us prevent this from happening.

Types of hair loss

The three major types of hair loss are the alopecia areata or the temporary loss of hair that appears as a coin shaped patch; telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair loss due to stressors in the system; and androgenetic alopecia or female pattern baldness. The female pattern baldness generally begins when a woman turns 30 but it can also happen as early as she reaches her 20s or as late as around the age of 40.

Possible causes

There are various factors that contribute to the hair loss of women. Some of them include heredity, hormonal imbalance, aging, pregnancy, medication, diet and stress. Stressors in the system can include ailments, high fever, drug use, and depression.

Some people ask if shampoos and hair products cause hair loss. While this rarely happens, there are a few instances when hair dyes, straightening chemicals, and other hair products cause an allergic reaction and result in the inflammation of the scalp and an eventual hair loss. Because of this, it is necessary that you only make use of high quality hair products to avoid this from happening.

It is also for true for hair equipment such as hair irons and blow dryers. It would be best to stay away from cheap generic ones that can contribute to hair loss, and stick with those that are high in quality such as CHI irons, T3 featherweight and the likes so you will be sure that your hair will not be damaged.

Treatment

A treatment would generally take at least 3 to 4 months but it can be a lot longer depending on the severity of the case. Some women hardly notice any significant improvement in their condition until after a year has passed.

Styling tips for the thinning hair

o Use only products that are recommended for fine and thinning hair. These products are mild enough not to damage your hair.

o Opt for a haircut that gives an illusion of thick, rich locks such as an above the shoulder cut, blunt cut or layered cut.

o Apply a volumizing shampoo on your hair to thicken each strand of your hair through the use of polymers.

o Do not rub your hair vigorously. This can only cause breakage and cause for more thinning of the hair.

o Avoid using heat generating appliances. If you should, choose only those that are high in quality and have adjustable temperature setting such as T3 featherweight so you will not subject your hair to extreme heat.

Thinning hair is not the end of the world. There are many things you can do to prevent this from happening, to treat this condition, and to style your hair in such a way that it will appear thick and radiant.

Although I have been using natural happinesslifetime.com skin care products for many years, I have never worried too much about personal care products such as natural shampoo or natural soap that you put on and wash off straight away. I have always believed that if a product does not stay on the skin for any length of time then the risk of absorbing dangerous chemicals form that product is probably minimal.

That was until a few years ago when I found out more about the skin and its ability to absorb certain molecules instantly. In fact the skin can absorb substances within a few seconds and while you're rubbing that gorgeous smelling shampoo into your scalp, your skin may be absorbing several chemicals you really do not want in your body.

Why do manufacturers put these chemicals into shampoos and other personal care products? There are several reasons including to make them smell nice, to preserve them so they last longer and, in the case of shampoos, to make them foam up well so that they appear to be doing a good job of cleansing your hair.

We'll look at the two worst chemical ingredients in a typical store bought shampoo. They are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). Of course there are others, but this pair are potentially the most damaging to your skin and your health.

Both SLS and SLES are put into personal care products to make foam which cleans any surface it is applied to, whether it is a car engine, a garage floor or your hair and scalp. The problem is that both of these are known skin irritants which can mix with other ingredients and form deadly cancer causing dioxins and nitrates in the shampoo bottle itself. They can then be absorbed quickly through the pores of your scalp and then into your bloodstream. From there they can travel to the organs where they will stay, because these chemicals are notoriously hard to remove from the body.

SLS and SLES also cause trouble even before they are absorbed through the skin in the form of scalp irritation and even hair loss. Hair loss is really not what you are looking for in a shampoo!

So why don't more people use a natural shampoo? Well mainly because they are not aware of the potential damage store bought shampoos can cause, and also because natural hair care had the reputation of being hard to lather and to rinse out. This has since been addressed and natural hair care can deliver the same or better results than its chemical equivalent.

Lastly a word of warning - beware of shampoos at health stores. A lot of these contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate called by another name. Always read the label carefully or use a reputable online store which sells a genuine natural shampoo instead.

There are several Causes of Hair Loss in Women and men and as there are a number of causes, there are also a number of Hair Loss Medications for Males and females available.

The most common cause of hair loss in men is androgenetic alopecia (males) which can also be called DHT Hair Loss. When testosterone, the male hormone, gets converted to DHT, it results in hair loss. Besides Anti-Androgen Medication, there are a number of Herbal Nutritional Supplements available which contain natural substances for blocking this transformation into DHT by the human body and are able to take care of hair loss. The active ingredients of these supplements are all-natural herbal, vitamin, and mineral DHT inhibitors. These natural hair care products contain no harsh chemicals and do not have sexual side effects which are very much evident in Hair Loss Medication.

The common hair care treatments available for females for normal hair care include shampoos, conditioners, whereas hair Re-growth treatment with Anti-Androgens and topical treatment with Rogaine are the only available options for female balding. There are many limitations of the anti androgen therapy, and the topical medication Rogaine which is more effective in preventing further hair loss rather than stimulating hair growth, is quite expensive and requires a long period of treatment (from 6 months to a year). Besides, the results obtained after a long period of use disappear after the treatment is stopped. In such situations it is best to explore the natural hair care secrets offered by many Natural Herbal Supplements and the Nutritional Health Vitamin Supplements.

Nutrition plays a very important role for hair care. The hair follicles which are in an active growth phase are strong and healthy compared to those which are in the resting stage. A steady flow of proper nutritional building blocks is essential for hair follicles to grow and produce healthy hair fiber. The follicles derive their nutrition from the blood. A balanced diet which has the natural vitamin supplements, proteins and mineral and health supplements is able to provide natural nutritional supplements to the hair follicles. If the already weak hair follicles do not get proper nutrition they become more prone to shedding.

These natural health supplements create an atmosphere where the tiny follicles beneath your scalp receive exactly what they need to create beautiful, full-bodied hair and also the power they need to sustain themselves when old.

Preventive care is the best form of treatment for any type of illness and hair loss is no exception. By providing the advantage of best nutritional and natural hair care you are sure to have a better control of hair loss.

Natural food supplements are the key to good health, and using natural hair care products and supplements are the best hair loss treatments for hair care.

Natural hair care secrets lie in taking a scientifically balanced mixture of Vitamins, Minerals and other Health Supplements which have long been regarded as effective for providing the right nourishment to the hair follicles and retain their vitality, natural color and the their potential for re-growth which can be lost due to both the internal and external causes.

Science has now unraveled the natural care secrets of phytonutrients, or phytochemicals, many of these chemicals have antioxidant capabilities greater than vitamin A, C, or E and the vitamins which have also been shown to be related with hair care. Many of these chemicals have anti-cancer benefits, and the good news is that there are thousands of such chemicals found in each fruit or vegetable.

Besides fruits and vegetables, nature has many herbs and plants which are able to provide natural hair care. Hormonal imbalance resulting from menopause is an important cause of hair loss in women. Besides menopause, hormonal imbalance is also caused during pregnancy, child birth, and is the cause of poly cystic ovarian syndrome in women, hormonal imbalance is also one of the main causes of hair loss in women.

Many of the herbs have the required natural supplements in them which are able to take care of most of the problems women face, so much so that they can be labeled as Women Health Supplements. These natural women health supplements are able to prevent hair loss due to menopause and are especially useful for women's health during the difficult phases of their life.

Did you know there are at least 10 distinct types of hair? I would almost bet you didn't. And do you actually know what type of hair you have? That's ok if you don't. By the end of this article you will.

The problem with hair care is that there are no single solutions that will apply universally to all hair types. With that in mind, lets get into the 10 different hair types. In reality there are 4 main hair types. Each of these have at least 2 subtypes, some have 3. Add it all up and you get a recipe for confusion when it comes to selecting the right shampoos and styling products.

Naturally straight hair is the first type of hair. This kind of hair has more layers of cuticles which means the hair is more resistant to damage. That's a good thing but also a bad thing. This protection also means the strands of hair are more resistant to shaping or styling. When damaged, straight hair is dry and brittle and forms thin ends.

There are 3 subtypes of straight hair. Fine straight hair is usually thin, very soft and naturally shiny. Medium straight hair is more textured and has lots of body. Then there is course straight hair which is the most resistant to styling.

Next on our list of hair types is wavy hair. This hair is not quite straight and not quite curly. The strands of hair typically form S patterns in the waves. This kind of hair can be tough to curl and it may refuse to bounce at all.

Wavy hair also has 3 subtypes. There is fine or thin wavy hair which is quite easy to style with a hair straightener or curling iron. Medium wavy hair is more resistant to styling with these tools and tends to get frizzy easily. The last wavy hair subtype is thick and course. This hair is even more resistant to curling or straightening and can get the frizz even easier.

Our third hair type is curly hair. This kind of hair has a definite S pattern that often forms loops. When stretched out it bounces back like a slinky toy. Normally it is very soft and fine in texture. The layers of cuticles are smooth and not flat. That also means that this kind of hair has less shine than straight or wavy. It has lots of body and when wet straightens out. But in high humidity the curls tighten and it is prone to frizzing.

There are 2 subtypes of curly hair. The first is loosely curled. This kind of hair looks almost straight when cut short. But when grown long, it usually has shiny big curls. The second subtype is medium to tight curly hair. This kind of hair form medium to tight cork screw type curls. It is interesting to note that quite often people with curly hair will have both subtypes in different areas of their hair.

The last hair type is kinky hair. This kind of hair is very tightly curls. It is really wiry and extremely fragile. It is made of lots and lots of really thin strands of hair that are densely packed together. Kinky hair has a sheen but does not shine. Because it has the least amount of cuticles, it is often very soft but that also means it is easy to break. And because of this, kinky hair is hard to grow long.

There are 2 kinds of kinky hair subtypes. First is the tightly coiled S pattern hair. When stretched out, the hair forms an S pattern and has a bit of moisture to it. The second is the tightly coiled Z pattern. This hair forms a Z pattern when stretched has the least amount of moisture of any hair type.

There you have it. Ten unique and distinct hair types. Now, knowing this, it should be easier for you to decide exactly what specific type of hair you possess. That is important because you will get better styling results if you work with what nature gave you rather than against it. For example, if you have tight curly hair but you love the look of straight hair, you may not get the best results with a hair straightener. Or, if you have coarse straight hair but want to get tight curls, knowing that your hair will resist this type of styling helps you decide the best hair style for you.

Of course, the beauty industry has solutions for many of these different hair types so you can have straight hair for a short time if you want to. But remember to come back to your roots (pun intended).

This question was asked by a student in their final semester of cosmetology school: I want to secure a job with a successful salon. If you were me what steps would you take to secure a position at a tier 1 salon?

Wow! How many of my fellow salon owners have re-played this scene in your head? I remember gliding through my last few classes, and constantly thinking... Do I want to start my career in an established salon with consistent clientele? Do I want to start in a salon with trickle traffic so that I can build my own loyal clientele? How soon should I start my search? If you're like me, you were probably a ball of nerves and had dreams as big as Texas.

The reality is now that we have accomplished measurable success as salon owner, we have an obligation to guide new stylists on how to develop a solid reputation, a successful business, and add value to our profession. There is a difference between tier one salons compared to other salons. For any novice who wants to get the most out of their learning curve, I recommend starting their career at a top-end, high profile salon. I know, I know...but they don't have any "real" experience or "know" anything, right?!? Well perhaps, but that's where salesmanship, professionalism, and sheer ambition must be apparently displayed to convince the future employer, to take another look and consider investing in this unrefined talent. Here is my modest attempt to guide an aspiring style artist in the direction of a long, profitable, tier 1 career.

Step One. Any student who is serious about their passion to become a professional stylist should start their search for a place to launch their career early. By early, I suggest no less than three months from license date. And they should certainly list the tier 1's in the area at the very top of their list. Let's face it, if you going to face hesitancy or get a no, it should be from a top salon, one that would matter. All too often do stylist think they can start from the bottom and build their clientele and salary up. While this might have been true 20 years ago, today's clientele is very sophisticated and word-of-mouth travels at light speed. The last thing a new stylist can afford is to be bridled with the reputations of being a low-grade stylist. It's extremely difficult to elevate your established client base from this position, or to shake this reputation in the market.

More on your search strategy; inquiring stylists should interview salons. Now this is where ambition and salesmanship must be engaged. Think like a client from behind the chair. What kind of environment would a client willingly pay $250 for a 2-hour service? What kind of music? How loud is it? What aromas are wafting through the air? How does the receptionist look and sound? How do they make your feel upon greeting you? Was it difficult to make an appointment over the phone?

All this and you haven't even made it to the chair to get your hair done yet. That's right, you need to ask for the newest stylist and allow them to perform at least two standard services on your hair. I know what you're thinking, but trust me this will tell you a lot about whether this is a good teaching environment for a novice.

Hair can be extremely sensitive and if you wish to grow it longer then you will have to pamper it more than before. Healthy nutrition is only half the work and you cannot rely on only vitamins that help with growing hair to do all the work. You will have to make the effort before you can enjoy beautiful long hair.

Let's first see what vitamins that help with growing hair are all about. There is vitamin A, an antioxidant that promotes production of sebum, natural hair oil, in the scalp. In addition, your diet should be rich in vitamin B complex, which is crucial for growing healthy hair. Other nutrients that should be included in your diet are proteins, which enable your body to renew cells and especially hair, since hair is 100 percent protein. So, a plentiful intake of fish, poultry, lean meats, eggs, soy, dairy, nuts, grains and seeds will provide your body with sufficient protein stocks to build up hair. Other dietary supplements beneficial for hair growth are carbohydrates and iron. The former category can supply your body with vitamin B and the latter one strengthens hair. Iron, an excellent addition to vitamins growing hair, can be found in lean red meats, cream of wheat, steamed clams, soy products, dry fruits and broccoli.

Apart from these nutrients, a lifestyle that's entirely healthy is a must for growing hair longer. The first thing you need to do is try and achieve a mental and physical balance in your life. You can attain this by learning to get rid of stress and exercising regularly. If there is extra tension you are suffering from, perhaps meditation could help. This technique can help you relax and achieve bodily balance. Yoga is a good activity as well. Exercise can help you improve blood circulation, which supplies entire body with oxygen and nutrients. Thus, more exercise means better hair nourishment.

Vitamins that help with growing hair are a great thing, but there are plenty of other things you want to care about when growing your tresses longer. The number one hair care tip is to treat your locks gently, as if it was a baby's hair. This means you should use natural, herbal products for hair washing and conditioning. You can go for baby shampoos. Whatever you choose, do not shampoo your mane more than once daily and do not rub your scalp harshly while washing your tresses.

You should also know how to preserve your hair and prevent damage to it. Excessive hair handling can ruin your hair that any vitamins that help with growing hair would become useless. Thus, you should avoid hair styling, coloring and pulling as much as possible. Permanent dyes can lead to eventual loss of your locks, which can also be caused by applying hot curlers, rollers, irons and other styling tools to your tresses. Make hair brushing gentler by sticking to wide tooth combs and wooden brushes. If you wish to change the style of your mane then opt for products which have normal to light holding abilities, because they are easily rinsed off with a shampoo. A special recommendation for hair protection is to avoid wearing any styling tools in your hair while you are asleep. Instead, wrap your head in a turban, a cotton cloth or a soft cap, to prevent hair pulling and falling off. This is because scalp is very sensitive at night and you want good quality sleep for your hair.

In conclusion, treat your tresses as your most precious possession. Only then will you be able to grow it to a desirable length and vitamins that help with growing hair will only boost the effects.

So, you want to try something new with your hair, but you don't have the time or the money to go to the salon. No problem! Here are some great suggestions for things you can do to enhance your natural hair color at home!

The first thing you need to know is that you need to start out with healthy hair. The best way to do this is to start preparing by shampooing and deep conditioning your hair a few days before you plan on coloring it. After doing this, don't shampoo your hair for a couple of days. It's best to apply color to "dirty" hair. Your natural oils will resurface and will help protect your hair during the coloring process, help the color to take, and will give you more uniform results. Once your ready, grab an old shirt and some old towels and get ready to have some fun!

There are a few organic methods of how to color your hair at home. If you're a brunette, you can use coffee to enrich your hair color! Just brew a very strong cup of espresso or a dark roast coffee. Let it cool and add it to your dry hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair. The coffee will add richness and shine to your dark hair. You can use this trick on natural or color-treated hair.

Another way to enhance your hair is with tea! A cup of strong, dark tea will add highlights to dark hair. Use the tea as a final rinse after shampooing. If you have lighter brown or blonde hair, apply a cup of strong chamomile tea to dry hair. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then shampoo as normal.

Believe it or not, nuts will add shine to your hair! Walnuts to be exact. You'll need to boil one cup of chopped walnuts with one cup of water for a few minutes. Let it cool and strain it. Apply the mixture to dry hair and leave it on for 30 minutes, then shampoo as normal.

You can also use fruit juices to enhance your colors. If you use cranberry juice as a final rinse when shampooing your hair, it will bring out your red highlights! It will also freshen up your all-over red hair color, whether it's natural or artificial. You can also use lemon juice to bring out highlights and lighten blonde hair.

If your going to color your hair with an at-home coloring kit, here are a few things to remember on how to dye your hair at home:

1.Remember to always start with "dirty" hair.

2.Have a friend help you! If your hair is long (or even if it's short), it's always helpful to have another pair of hands around to help you get those hard to reach areas.

3.Always apply color to the mid-section of your hair first and then work your way to the roots and the ends. Color will process faster near your scalp because of your bodies natural body heat, and it will process faster at the ends because your ends are more porous than the rest of your hair shaft. This is especially important when coloring long hair.

4.If you're coloring gray hair, remember that gray hair is usually more coarse and less porous. It's a good idea to prepare gray hair for the coloring process. You can do this by using a softening shampoo or developer for gray hair. Also, it may be a good idea to choose a color that's one shade lighter than what you want for your end result. Be sure to follow the directions in the color kit for how to color gray hair carefully! It usually requires a longer processing time.

Ok! So you've colored your hair and it looks great! How do you keep that color looking fresh? The most important thing is to replenish the moisture lost during the coloring process. To do this, always use a shampoo that's specially formulated for color treated hair. These shampoos are gentler on treated hair and help add that much needed moisture. If you use a regular shampoo, it will be too harsh and will strip the color and moisture from your hair.

If you don't have a water filter, it would be a good idea to get one. Tap water that isn't treated contains elements that will affect your hair color. Also, if you're going to be swimming, you'll need to take precautions. Chlorine can wreak havoc on color treated hair! Before jumping into the pool, wet your hair with spring water. If your hair is already saturated, there won't be any room to absorb the chemically treated pool water. A leave in conditioner works well here too as added protection.

After shampooing, always blot your hair dry with a towel. Don't rub it or wrap it up tightly. Use a wide tooth comb and not a brush to untangle your hair. Start at the ends and work your way up to the roots. All of this will help your hair stay strong and reduce breakage.

Condition, condition, condition! On a daily basis, use a conditioner after shampooing. The leave-in conditioners normally contain a sunscreen which will help keep your color from fading. Every few weeks, use a color enhancing, deep conditioner to restore moisture and shine. This will also help blend in roots as your hair grows.

I hope this has been helpful! Have fun!

You will be able to notice this at any premier hair salon across the country in these days - their proprietors, or trusted assistants, go out all the time researching drugstore and department store cosmetics racks, for home hair color and touchup sets, that they can pick for their own customers, particularly those teenagers who want to have new hair color to match their prom dresses. What exactly gives? These are clients who pay anywhere between $300-$500 for a sitting to obtain a hair color. For what reason would they want suddenly, to do it on their own, and how do they manage to get their hair salons to do their shopping for them? It is just that, the $300 tab gets to be a little too much in this economy, even for the high-paying clients.

If the salons insist on asking that much for every single sitting, even if it is to simply do a little touch-up work around the roots, those customers are just going to go away altogether. Therefore as an alternative, in recognition of the hard time so many people are going through, salons go and buy them DIY touchup kits to utilize between settings. That way, they can get professional service for the big hair work, and reduce costs doing the minor work themselves. The hair salon staff provide their best customers a bit of primer on how best to hold the brush, or shampoo themselves - just a couple of hair care tips to help them at home.

Similar to lots of things, home cooking, home washing, that usually get a bit of a boost during a recession, home hair care is something that has gotten a 20% rise. Ladies who would formerly get almost all their work done at a professional salon, have switched to getting a few done at home. The major expensive hair salons never used to utilize consumer brands like L'Oreal or Clairol for their coloring work. They always utilized specialty in-house formulations, or did wonders with niche manufacturers. However with the customers' money now all going to the mass-market products, expensive salons are beginning to re-think their strategy. It is similar to Starbucks providing you coffee powder to brew at home.

Every time a specialty dealer offers you a brew-your own-product, you imagine that you are in some way going to be able to get professional results right in your house. There's a particular market for that sort of thing, and a premium to charge of customers as well. Looking on the web at any kind of hair care tips site, you will see all of them bragging about Umberto Savone and Frederic Fekkai products from LA and NY - big hair salons that have released happinesslifetime.com hair care products to market at department stores.

Individuals often forget after having been able to afford professional coloring for a long time, exactly what it was that initially turned them to the experts all those years in the past. Natural happinesslifetime.com skin care products are top sellers in the happinesslifetime.com skin care market. More and more people are recognizing that the chemicals used in big brand name happinesslifetime.com skin care products are not good for us, or our skin, and turning to natural alternatives, both for happinesslifetime.com skin care products, happinesslifetime.com hair care products and cosmetics.

Here's 6 happinesslifetime.com skin care tips for getting healthy good looking skin, for free. Because although the best natural happinesslifetime.com skin care and happinesslifetime.com anti aging products are spectacularly effective, there is more that you can do than just using organic happinesslifetime.com skin care products.

1. Improve your diet.

Like it or not, our diet affects our entire body, and our skin. Our skin is an organ of our body like any other organ, and like the other organs our skin can get unhealthy from an unhealthy diet. But as everyone sees your skin it's a highly visible result of a poor diet.

This applies to all skin types, whether you have oily skin or dry skin or or any skin type, poor diet will affect the health, and look, of your skin. Skip the burgers and pizzas in favor of fruit and vegetables and your skin will look way better, and you'll be healthier.

2. Avoid big brand name cosmetics and happinesslifetime.com skin care products. These products, including such things as hair care treatments, hair removal treatments, popular cosmetics, many facial and body care products and more contain chemicals that can both be harmful to your health and also damaging to your skin. Ironically, happinesslifetime.com skin care products and cosmetics can actually cause skin problems. Junk your big brand name products.

The author has personal experience with this. My young daughter was given traditional cosmetics by her ballet studio for her first ballet concert a few years ago, and immediately broke out in a nasty skin reaction. We now use our own (natural) cosmetics for her and there has been no repeat.

3. Make yourself stick to a regular exercise routine. Exercise improves blood circulation, and this is good for your skin, and for your whole body. Exercise has so many benefits it's hard to know where to start, and this includes improved skin health.

4. Pay attention to getting plenty of beneficial essential oils in your diet. This includes omega 3 which comes from eating fish as well as some other foods. Omega 3 is good for your skin, and your overall health. You can get omega 3 from good (natural) supplements, but if you're on a budget just find out which foods contain omega 3 and eat those. Do a little research and find a good source of omega 3 essential oil and include this in your diet regularly.

5. Drink plenty of water. Your body, as well as your skin, needs to stay hydrated. If you don't drink water this will impact your overall health as well as your skin health. Water is important for many things in your body, including skin health.

6. Start dry brush exfoliation. It sounds complicated, but exfoliation is just using a soft, dry brush to gently brush your skin. Why would you want to brush your skin? Dry brush exfoliation helps remove the dead skin cells that all of us have on the surface of our skin.

And you don't just brush the skin on your face either, you should brush your entire body. It is done by gently brushing in small circles from your feet right up to your face. Dry brush exfoliation also helps improve your blood circulation in your skin, and lymph circulation.

There's 6 things you can do for free to help improve your skin beauty routine. In fact you can even save some money, for example fruits and vegetables are usually cheaper than burgers and pizzas. And if you regularly do these 6 things they will improve your skin health over time, and you will see the results. And your body will thank you for it with improved health overall.

One last thing. Once you've junked your big brand name happinesslifetime.com skin care products and cosmetics and hair and facial and body care products, find some high quality natural happinesslifetime.com skin care products. They work better than the big brand name products (many of which do nothing at all), and they are made from safe non allergenic ingredients. Science is finding answers to skin aging and skin health, and they come from safe plant extracts such as shea butter and natural keratin.

Stay health, stay fit and stay hydrated and your skin will do the same.

Vitamins are one of the least understood areas in terms of helping women to achieve their very best shiny female hair! In terms of hair loss for example, which fortunately affects women much less than men. It is a fact that certain vitamins, or more accurately a lack of them can actually lead to hair loss. Amongst these the B vitamins are particularly important. If you are deficient in vitamins B12 or vitamins B6, than it can often lead to hair loss. So a good start in terms of achieving beautifully shiny hair, is to stock up with a B complex vitamin supplement. Why B complex? Well, because the B vitamins tend to work together, synergistically, and so a lack of any of them tends to affect the others in a detrimental way.

When exploring female hair vitamins, a question arises as to which foods to include in your diet which are particularly good to get those essential vitamins. Three good sources are Soya beans, fish, and chicken, which are some of nature's very best natural healthy hair treatments! Foods are a very protein rich tend to also be rich in vitamins B6 and B12. So if you are seeking shiny female hair, then you will want to make sure that you have sufficient levels of these vitamins in your diet.

The hair tends to be the last place that the body sends nutrients. This is because it is essentially (for survival purposes at least!), not nearly as important as essential organs like the heart or lungs, and so they get first call on any nutrients that you bring into your body. And so this tends to explain, why when you are feeling rundown, that often your hair will also look lank and lifeless. So to have beautiful shiny female hair it is essential to really look after yourself and diet plays a key part in this.

Other female hair vitamins that some studies have indicated may be useful in terms of having vibrant, healthy and shiny hair is Saw Palmetto. The reason behind this is that Saw Palmetto has been shown to lower levels or a substance called DHT. Now, DHT is known to cause hair loss in both men and women when its levels are high, and so it would seem that Saw Palmetto, because it is able to lower the levels of DHT could well be a useful female hair vitamin. (It should be pointed out here, though, that this is in the early stages of research, and is by no means conclusively proven.)

Two other vitamins that are useful in promoting healthy female hair are vitamins A and C. The reason behind being similar to that of Saw Palmetto. Namely, that vitamins A and C tend to inhibit the production of DHT, and hence tend to promote healthy and vibrant hair growth.

So, in conclusion, if you are looking to explore female hair vitamins and wish to know what vitamins are best for shiny female hair, then simply seek out your ABCs! (With a healthy dose of saw Palmetto thrown in for good measure;)) And remember to take a look at the links below for more great vitamin tips.

Hair growth really depends on your hair growth cycle's life span which can be anywhere from 2 to 6 years; genetics; and your overall health and diet. Unless a person is suffering from an excessive amount of stress for a prolonged period; illness, or maybe taking medication that either stunts the hair growth or makes the hair fall out, we are all experiencing hair growth at all times. Hair grows an average of .5" per month, give or take. When I say this, I don't mean White people's hair, but all types of hair. Yes, Black women have the potential to grow our hair as long as or longer than our White counterparts.

Although a person can do nothing about their heredity or the life span of their hair, we can all do something about our diets. It is very important to watch what we take into our bodies for our bodies' health, as well as the health of our hair. Before I embarked on my journey to mid-back length hair, I was a total sugar addict. I ate cookies for breakfast, ice cream for lunch, threw a few candy bars and licorice in for daily snacks and washed it all down with a tall cup of juice. I was a fast food queen and loved the fries at the golden arches and the double cheeseburgers too. Not only was this damaging to my body but it was also wreaking havoc on my hair.

Our hair needs nutrition from the inside out. Suitable nutrition is imperative for growth of hair follicles and healthy hair fiber. If your dietary intake is lacking in hair-friendly foods, all the expensive shampoos, conditioners and products you are spending your hard earned money on will produce minimal results. If you are anything like me, changing your diet will be extremely difficult. I gradually became conscious of labels, counting the grams of sugar; then the fat and sodium content (all which can affect your hair's health). There was no way that I was going to give up all of my junk food cold turkey, so I either eliminated or decreased the bad ingredients gradually. Fortunately, the longer I did this the easier it was for me. My taste buds changed and my body could no longer withstand the continuous sugar assaults.

During my transition to better eating habits, which I am still undergoing after 10 years, I decided to take vitamins to supplement the nutrients I was missing in my diet. I started out taking a multi-vitamin and within a month or two, I began to notice my fingernails were healthier and stronger and I had a lot more energy. While shopping for my multi-vitamin, I came across vitamins that were specifically tailored towards growing healthy hair. I bought them and noticed results after taking the first bottle. My hair seemed thicker and my nails grew stronger and longer.

Over the years, I have changed to and from several different brands of hair vitamins. I do believe some are superior over others as some have fillers, are missing key vitamins, or have key vitamins in a very low dosage. Some of the hair vitamins also exclude minerals that aid in hair growth and health. I have included an easy chart at the end of my book (fabulousblackwoman.com/TheBook.html fabulousblackwoman.com/TheBook.html) to reference which vitamins and minerals aid in healthy hair growth as well as which foods contain these vitamins and minerals.

Hairstyling is something that any women cannot take for granted. Your hair style has a great impact on your overall beauty. And in this day and age, it is very important to look good especially when you want to make a good impression. That's why many kinds of hair styling tools were developed to meet the growing demand of the society with regard to looking beautiful. What's more, the hairstyling products that are available include some simple instructions on how to use them. Even though the results of using these products and tools are different from hair salons, one cannot deny the fact that these styling tools have made it easier for people to beautify their hair.

But, do you know that styling the hair frequently may result in hair damage? In fact, even brushing the hair may also cause your hair to break easily. So in order to protect your hair from deterioration, you have to begin strengthening your hair by using the appropriate type of shampoo as well as conditioner. There are several first-rate hair salons that provide premium quality shampoos and conditioners to help make your hair stronger and healthier. Aside from that, you may also take multivitamins that are specifically designed to keep your hair healthy.

Another option which you can take to safeguard your hair from the harmful effects of styling is to use good-quality hair styling tools that go well with your hair type. Make sure that you only use high quality hair-care products so as to protect your hair from too much heat exposure. It is ideal to invest in professional hairstyling devices to achieve the kind of hairstyle that you want without putting your hair in jeopardy. Also, you need to check the hairstyling tools every now and then for damage like scratches, missing parts, or threadbare wires. Bear in mind that threadbare wires may cause electric shock or fire.

Additionally, you should make use of happinesslifetime.com hair care products that are specifically meant for certain hair-related issues. In case, you are residing in a place where you are exposed to too much heat from the sun, then you will need a hair conditioner that has SPF. This is necessary to shield your hair against the harmful rays of the sun. If you want to color your hair, you have to use hair coloring products that are especially designed to protect your hair in the process. If your hair is curly, you need to utilize happinesslifetime.com hair care products such as anti-frizz or curl enhancers in order to keep the hair more manageable. By means of using the proper hair care treatments, you are sure that your hair will be free from any kind of damage.

Taken as a whole, it is important to be careful in using hair styling tools and products. When styling your hair, you need to take your time in doing the process. Do not do the hairstyling too quickly. Just take your time especially when using the thermal devices. This way you will get the results that you want without damaging your hair and scalp.

2011 will see some interesting hair colors applied to women's hairs and this year, it seems, funky is in. Coloring your strands is probably the fastest way ever to update your looks. Also it's much cheaper than shopping for new clothes accessories. With different hair colors everyone will notice you and many will even try to imitate your style!

So here are some of the best hair color ideas for 2011 for the modern women of today.

Vegetable colors

Vegetable colors are allowed to only contain vegetable extracts in order to create the composition. It is something like henna, however the materials are different. If you want to use such colors but don't want to leave them in forever, you can easily use these as they are fading away after about eight shampoo sessions.

Skin tones

Skin tones are perfect to compliment any skin type. For example if you are light sensitive, a dark hair style simply doesn't go so well with your type. Also a nicely tanned skin will go perfectly with chestnut or various honey tones. Always check that the color you are applying to your hair actually matches your skin tone, and you're good to go.

Red tones

Red is in again and it's quite easy to achieve that red hair look. As a matter of fact, for 2010 it was the most requested hair color type, based on the feedback of various hair stylists. It is a very sexy shade, one that commands attention right away.

Black tones

Easiest of all colors to achieve simply because the molecules in black are larger than that of other colors, so no matter your original color, black will stick to it quite nicely and for a long time. Black usually gives a quite mysterious and enigmatic look to the face that is so appealing to many.

Blond tones

Blond is usually the most difficult color to achieve, particularly if you've already had some permanent colors applied to your hair before. Especially affected by this is trying to apply very light blond tones. The reason is because strong heat as well as direct sunlight will adversely affect it by make it fade quite fast. One way to go about it is by adding at first darker shades that stick and then going lighter a few treatments later. And most of all avoid strong bleaches as they usually destroy the hair cuticles and follicles quite fast and you'll have a hard time trying to first restore your mane to its original health.

There's no denying that money is getting tight all over the world.  Yet, despite budgetary limitations, people still want to enjoy the posh lifestyles they had in the past.  They don't want to face the music and they don't actually enjoy cutting back.  So they continue to try and cut corners without making it look like they are cutting corners.  This can require a bit of sleight of hand, so they're going about it in creative and non-traditional ways.

Want to know one of the latest innovations in savings?  Buy a fake GHD hair straightener.  A real GHD hair straightener can be a bit pricey, especially for younger women who may be living on an allowance from parents.  If they've been cut off or had their spending money reduced, then they are faced with either letting their carefully cultivated looks go to ruin, or resorting to desperate measures.

According to law enforcement officials in the US and Britain, an ever increasing number are resorting to desperate measures.  This in turn is pushing up the demand for knock off products and fakes.  A recent raid in Britain at a boot sale turn up a entire GHD hair straightener trunk, with the items laid out in kits for buyers to take home.  The seller was charged for each of the 18 kits that he had in his boot at the sale.

Yet while the man selling the fake goods was arrested and charged, the argument can be made that he was not really the true perpetrator of a crime at the time.  Instead, he was merely responding to market forces.  Everyone has to make a living at something, right?  For this merchant, when his clients could no longer afford to buy themselves a real GHD hair straightener he had no choice but to come up with an alternative or risk going out of business completely.

Incidences like these are based around hard economic choices by merchants and a lax moral outlook by buyers.  With unemployment on the rise instead of declining, they are likely to continue and worsen.  If law enforcement officials think that things are bad now on the fake goods front, they probably have no idea what is going in the months ahead.  Unless jobs come back and people have more disposable income to spend, it's likely to be a very tough time for those who want to stop the fakers.

Dream interpretations of hair falling out, hair related symbols, changing color or being cut are fairly common.

Dreaming that your hair is being cut, falling out in hanks or being on fire is actually a sign of good health.

In American society, hair symbolizes vanity; so much so that, condition and color of the hair matters very much today. There are literally thousands of happinesslifetime.com hair care products and prescription products for hair loss on the market being now sold over the counter.

Both men and women dye their gray hair rather than accept it as a sign of wisdom. For some people, having a "bad hair day" affects their entire day negatively.

Hair, Pulled hair, Wigs, they are all the rage nowadays. In fact, dreams of losing or graying hair can provoke fears of growing older or a lack of self-esteem. Likewise, a strong beard is a sign of youth and masculinity while a gray or white beard symbolizes wisdom and old age.

In the good old days of Samson and Delilah, hair was signified virility and strength. Karl Gustav Jung would have said that if you were male, dreams of losing hair would represent fear of castration or impotency.

For both women as well as men, having a hair cut could symbolize loss of strength. This might also suggest that someone was trying to restrain you or could represent conformity.

Do you think you are dealing with a situation in waking life where you are feeling powerless or stifled? Blowing your hair in the wind is a sign of lack of inhibition and a sense of freedom.

Do you feel you have to loosen your grip on things you can't control? Having ones hair styled or altered in any way again points to self-esteem and issues of self-image. How do you feel about yourself and your life? Maybe you are not only desirous of physical changes but might also have to revolutionize direction in life.

In quite a few cultures, hair is spirituality linked. Quite a number of Native American tribes think that ones soul or spirit resides in the hair. In this sense, cutting or shaving off ones hair in your dream could come to symbolize a desire to reconnect with the earth or ones spiritual path.

Hair dreams could mean sexual virility, seduction, sensuality, vanity, and health indicative of ones attitudes. If the hair is knotted or tangled, it is a sign of uncertainty and confusion in life, an inability to think straight.

Dreaming of cutting ones hair, symbolizes a loss of strength, like someone is trying to repress you. On the other hand, you could be reshaping your thinking or ambitions and eliminating unwanted thoughts and habits.

Dreaming that you are combing, stroking or styling your hair could suggest that you are evaluating or dealing with a new idea, concept, outlook, or way of thinking. It may have to do with putting your thoughts in order or getting your facts straight.

A more literal interpretation of such hair dreams would suggest your concerns about your image and appearance. The dream could also be a metaphor suggesting that you are feeling "light-headed".

Several millions of women all over the world are suffering from hair loss at some stage. Statistics show that there are about 30 million women in the United States who are experiencing female pattern baldness. The causes in women are well understood by the medical community but with the growing popularity of alternative and herbal natural remedies in recent years, several misconceptions and myths have arisen. This led to a degree of conflicting theories.

Medical doctors, like trichologists and dermatologists, believe that women's hair problem is caused by androgenetic alopecia. As soon as the androgen male hormone in women increases due to menopause, aging, sensitivity, hormonal imbalance and other factors, it can cause the genetic loss of hair. If you observe that your family tree from your great grandmother down to your grandmother, aunts, mother and sisters have similar degree of this condition, it is very likely that this indicator will affect you also.

When testosterone enters your hair follicle cell through the androgen receptors and triggers a chain reaction that produces DHT or dehydrotestosterone, this is the principal cause of this hair condition. The enzyme 5 alpha reductase (5AR) converts the testosterone to DHT. It then activates the genes which shut down normal hair production.

How do you separate facts from myths? One issue is that hair loss is caused by poor circulation and treatment is aimed at boosting blood circulation to the scalp. This is a fact to many but a myth to some who claim that when hairs are transplanted to balding areas, they still grow proving that circulation in the balding areas is similar to other areas of the scalp. Another issue is that it is caused by clogged follicles. Again, this is a fact to many doctors but a myth to some. Those who believe that it is only a myth claims that clogged hair follicles lead to ingrown hairs and not the loss of hair. They claim that happinesslifetime.com hair care products that claim to open these pores will not stop hair loss and regrow hair. There are other myths and facts issues like mites and organisms as possible causes of hair loss in women.

There are also causes of hair loss in women which are not genetically based and they are only temporary in nature. Causes can be infection, trauma, stress, malignancy, drug use, postpartum effects and nutritional deficiencies. These are non-genetic or telegen effluvium causes of hair loss in women. According to medical research, other causes of non-genetic hair loss include but not limited to: protein deficiency common with vegetarian diets; thyroid or liver disease; hepatic or renal failure; anorexia or bulimia; anesthesia; too much vitamin A; childbirth; local viral, fungal or protozoan infection; birth control pills; drug toxicity; very high fever; antimitotics such as those used for chemotherapy; severe stress; bromocriptine such as those used for chemotherapy; anemia; beta blockers; hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism; ACE inhibitors; essential fatty acid deficiency; amphetamines; zinc deficiency; anti-cholesterol agents; systemic disease such as lupus/DLE; and any condition that upsets the ovarian, adrenal or pituitary axis.

If you want to try the medical approach, the best hair and scalp specialist to consult with regarding any hair problem is a Licensed Trichologist who has successfully completed a recognized Trichology Educational Program and Virtual Care and who is a registered member of the International Association of Trichologists. Your medical history will be taken and several tests will be performed to determine the root causes. On the other hand, you can consult with a Naturopathic Doctor for natural remedies if you want to experiment with cost efficient natural supplements and herbal medicines.

Hair is a very insightful gauge to body imbalances. Factors such as nutritional deficiencies, medical or genetic dysfunction, medication and stress related issues are limited causes of hair loss in women. All of this information is vital to a Trichologist and naturopathic physicians to pinpoint the pertinent causes so that they can identify the most effective form of treatment. The excellent scenario is it is still possible for hair loss to stop and a bright hope remains for them to grow back into a full and luscious hair!
