Our hair is our crowning glory. It is the first thing that people notices, and one of the qualities that contribute to our physical appearance. It is no wonder that proper hair care is always one of the top concerns of anyone who knows how important it is to maintain fabulous healthy hair. If you want to know more about excellent methods on hair care, here are some hair care basics that you would find useful.

o Nourish your Hair

If you think that a proper diet is only for the body, you are wrong. Eating nutritious food also contribute to healthy and shiny hair. Including protein rich food (lean meat, fish, dairy products, eggs) in your daily dietary intake helps the growing process of the hair. This is the reason why some vegetarians who fail to include protein in their diet experience thinning of the hair.

Foods rich in Vitamins A, B, and C, meanwhile, are vital for the health of the hair roots and the scalp. You can find these vitamins in most red, yellow and orange vegetables, cod liver oil, nuts, seeds, and fruits such as citrus, oranges, pineapples, apples and tomatoes.

o Wash your hair

Washing hair does not mean simply bathing it with whatever kind of shampoo and conditioner you find in your bathroom. Finding the ideal product for your hair type is imperative for this process. When you shampoo your hair, you need to massage your scalp to encourage the moisturizing activity on the roots. It is also a must that you are able to rinse your hair thoroughly.

As for the conditioner, it should only be applied to the ends of the hair and combed through it to achieve best results. It is always a good idea to consult your stylist about what kind of shampoo and conditioner will be suitable for your hair type.

o Use high quality hair equipment

Whether you are using hair dryers or flat irons, you need to ensure that you only purchase brands that are of high quality. This is because high quality hair equipment is made of high standard materials that will not do any damage to your hair.

Be sure that you read and understand the manual of the equipment before using it so that you do not end up having a burnt or frizzed out hair. Follow expert's advice on how to utilize this equipment so that your hair will always be kept safe.

o Give your hair a treat

Treatments such as protein enriched processes to strengthen hair, and moisture based treatment to battle frizz and help control hair are excellent ways to provide the best kind of care for your fabulous mane. It is recommended that you give your hair at treat at least twice every month.

More Tips

o Never rub hair vigorously.

o Avoid using elastic bands that are too tight for your tresses

o Dry your hair first before combing.

o Use brush with soft bristles to avoid damage to the hair.

o Take care of your hair equipment such as hair irons and hair dryers.

It is always great to know that caring for one's hair does not mean that you have to spend a huge fortune just to ensure that your hair gets the proper care and treatment it needs to keep its great shape.

Hair is an essential part of the body. Having a head full of hair makes you look good and young as well. People with thinning or un-managed hair face lots of problem and often end up spending too much time on managing their wayward hair. Hence, it is preferable to get a nice hair cut that actually suits requirement and body needs. Get a hair cut according to your type and texture of hair.

Most people find it quite difficult to get the right hair cut that suits your body. Flipping pages of fashion magazines and searching internet may not prove always helpful. It is because hair cuts that you usually see in magazines or online are given as per the needs of featured models who sport these hairdos. Hairstyles are chosen keeping model's bone structure, hair texture and coloring in mind. So, chances are that you may not look good sporting these hair cuts.

So, if you have geared up your mind to get a great hairstyle, finding an expert stylist seems a wise decision. A professional hair stylist will tell you what will look good on you after assessing your comfort level and convenience as well.

If your stylist tell you that the style that you are eyeing may not suit you, pay attention to him. Always count on an honest opinion as he/she is an expert and is adaptive to give you the right look. So, listen to the person and discuss your doubts frankly in order to get the right appearance as you have been thinking.

Every woman's dream is to have a thick, soft, crowning glory with a rich sheen. This dream can come true with just some attention to proper hair care. Some quick ways to have a truly great hair day is by following simple rules like:

1. A nice head massage with warm olive oil or coconut oil or castor oil before head bath will make hair softer, shiny and stronger. If you don't have time in morning, do the massage at night and let your hair soak in the oil.

2. Ensure that the shampoo you use is suitable for your hair type. After shampooing, use a deep, nourishing conditioner. One can also use following home made conditioner: take appropriate amount of mayonnaise (make sure it is real mayonnaise and not the one for salad dressing) and coat your hair in it. Massage it well for 3 minutes and then cover with a shower cap or a hot damp towel and leave for 30 minutes. Shampoo as usual and you have ultra soft shiny hair.

3. Make your own hair mousse to give that extra edge to your soft hair. Take 1/4th cup plain gelatin and dissolve it in 1 cup of boiling water. Let it set till to room temperature and then rub onto wet or dry hair. Blow dry as usual to give that extra bounce. The mousse need not be refrigerated and the shelf life is just one week.

4. Remember not to comb wet hair as it is at its weakest when wet. If needed, use a wide tooth comb but before using the comb detangle the wet hair with your fingers.

5. If you don't like the idea of hair gels use apple cider vinegar as the final hair rinse. This will add shine and softness to your hair. The vinegar smell evaporates after some time. Apple cider vinegar has rich in alpha-hydroxy acids which make the hair softer and smoother. Use half cup in one quarter of water as final rinse after shampooing.

6. For extra moisturizing, you can also add a few drops of honey to your conditioner.

7. For giving extra fluffiness to the hair, use a hair brush to comb when hair is nearly dry. Repeat at intervals and use only the hair brush to comb.

8. There are different types of brushes to give different effects to your hair.

- A round brush will flip the hair up from roots and give volume to hair.

- Paddle brush is perfect for straightening the hair.

- While a wide tooth comb is best to detangle wet hair, using narrow tooth comb will make the hair straighter on drying.

9. Another way of adding volume is to comb it backwards. Bend your head down and comb from roots to the tip. Then flip your hair back and use fingers to settle the hair down.

10. After the cake is baked what you need as the finishing touch is the icing. So after you are through with the basic steps, use hair accessories like hair clips, hair pins etc to jazz up the style and you are ready to hit the floor!!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away but did you know that it aids in hair growth too? Research has shown there are various ways of using apple or its forms to maintain a healthy crop of hair. Apple cider vinegar, made from apples, is an amazing hair tonic. Visit: naturalhairgrowth.net naturalhairgrowth.net. Please add your inputs on Natural Hair Growth Blog.

The battle between traditional medicine and Western, modern medicine exists even in the field of happinesslifetime.com hair loss treatments. While researchers are trying to find ways to remedy the problem with one drug or a cocktail of chemical compounds, traditional remedies for hair loss have existed for thousands of years. If you're tired of taking pills and applying topical remedies to your balding areas, perhaps it's time to visit the age-old medicine chest of traditional remedies.

Why Even Try?

Generally, traditional medical approaches are safer than taking pills or using gels or patches filled with synthetic chemicals. Usually, traditional remedies involve the use of natural items and foodstuffs that can be found all around us.

The same principle applies with traditional Chinese medicine; herbs, roots and leaves are prepared in measured amounts to remedy common ailments. Economically, it's also more practical to use natural ingredients because they cost less, and you can prepare infusions and creams from the comfort of your home, at your own time.

Oil

You've heard the drill; put oil on your hair to keep it supple and shiny. To an extent, safe oils like mineral oil and essential oils from plants such as lavender and walnut are effective in keeping the hair healthy. If you have extremely dry hair, your sebum production may have been probably affected already. Sebum is the natural oily secretion that's responsible for keeping the hair shiny. If you're exposed to immense levels of smoke and toxins on a daily basis, your sebum production may have already weakened.

In such case, oils are a natural remedy. Dry hair is also brittle hair; ignore dry hair enough and you are rewarded with easy breakage and unattractive, unmanageable hair. Don't worry; you don't have to look far for the oils you can use. You can use any of the following for the purpose of strengthening and maintaining younger-looking hair:

- Castor oil

- Almond oil

- Coconut oil

- Olive oil

- Essential oil of thyme

- Essential oil of rosemary

- Essential oil of lavender

- Essential oil of cedar wood

- Jojoba oil

- Grape seed oil

More Vitamins, Please

Keeping your hair on your head may be simpler than we formerly have thought. If you know that you're not getting enough vitamins because of your diet, there's no point in changing your diet now.

You can, but it would take longer for the vitamins to reach your ailing scalp. Instead, change your diet while taking vitamin supplements. Common multivitamin formulations with tocopherol, biotin, thiamine, ascorbic acid and the like are sufficient for maintaining a healthy scalp and hair.

Don't go to extreme lengths, either. It's not only pointless, but dangerous, to take multiple vitamin pills a day. The body can only make use of a certain amount of a vitamin; the rest are thrown away (through urination and bowel movement).

While some vitamins are kept in the body for future use, it is still recommended that you take only the recommended RDA for all vitamin types. This would prevent unnecessary problems associated with the overabundance of vitamins.

After taking care of your own hair, making a couple of mistakes, or just realizing that your own hair care is a piece of work, choosing a hairstylist can be your next challenge. In this article, my objective is to help you identify at which points it is critical or necessary to incorporate a professional hairstylist in your hair care regimen, rules of etiquette in dealing with a hairstylist, and some basic factors to consider in choosing hairstylist.

Know when you need a professional:

1. Generally, you should visit a professional at least once every three months.

2. You have ongoing or recurring issues with your hair (bald spots, excessive itching, bleeding scalp, anything oozing from the scalp, flakes come back within 3 days after cleaning).

3. Your hair is jacked up.

4. You have never had a hair assessment.

5. The condition of your hair has changed dramatically.

6. You feel uncomfortable with your hair and caring for it.

7. You want or need hair color.

8. You want a hair cut or hair shaping.

9. You have a special event and you want your hair to be flawless.

10. Your hair styling needs a boost.

Etiquette with a hairstylist:

o Take the time to carefully select a hair care professional that suits your needs and supports you in your hair goal/plan. Sometimes this process takes months and often requires distance travel.

o In your relationship with your hair care professional, enter it with honor, integrity, open & honest communication, and fairness.

o Maintain open communication and mutual respect for the partnership at all times. Honor their time and their craft by arriving early for appointments, keeping scheduled appointments, and honoring your word (no surprises).

o Expect excellence in service, respect for time and business ethics.

o Budget to always offer gratuity payment in addition to the payment for service offered. Standard gratuity is 18% of the cost of services received. If you do not have 18% gratuity, offer at least $5.00 tip.

o If you treat your hair care professional well, they will treat you well.

o If the time comes that you must move on or you are no longer satisfied with any parts of the services, exit the relationship through the same door of honor, integrity, open & honest communication, and fairness.

Peace, love, and great hair!

There are literally hundreds of potentially harmful chemical ingredients in personal care products. I can't emphasize this enough--read ingredients labels! Products can claim to be natural, even organic, without any substantiation necessary. After reading the ingredients, you find a laundry list of synthetic chemicals and petroleum derivatives.

A good rule of thumb: if you can read and recognize the ingredients without taking Chemistry 101, the product is probably somewhat safe. Keep in mind, however, that some natural ingredients, such as lavender and tea tree oil, have been linked to adverse health effects as well.

Ten ingredients that should be avoided in your personal care products:

1. Fragrance (synthetic): Companies can put any chemical they desire into the product and list it as fragrance, since fragrance is considered proprietary. "Fragrance" typically contains a host of harmful chemicals, such as:

- Phthalates (endocrine disruptor, damage to liver & testes, birth defects, carcinogen, linked to asthma in children)

- Parabens (possible carcinogen, hormone disrupter)

- Dioxins (carcinogens)

2. Mercury: Can you believe that mercury is still an ingredient in many eye drops and mascaras? It is listed as "thimerosal". The dangers of mercury include:

- Profound central nervous system effects

- Impairment of heart & lung function

- Birth defects

3. Phthalates: In synthetic fragrances, nail polishes and hair sprays, as well as soft plastic toys and vinyl shower curtains, phthalates can cause:

- Endocrine disruption

- Damage to liver & testes

- Birth defects

- Cancer

- Asthma in children

4. Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate: Contained in about 95% of foaming products, and 50% of personal care products, it is difficult to find a product that doesn't contain it when you comb through the drug store shelves. SLS can cause:

- Skin and eye irritation

- Hair loss

- Microscopic damage to gum tissue, leading to gum disease and increased incidence of canker sores.

- An increase the permeability of the skin, enhancing the absorption of other potentially harmful chemical ingredients

- It is also usually contaminated with toxic by-products from the manufacturing process.

5. Parabens: These widely used preservatives in cosmetics and happinesslifetime.com hair care products:

- Disrupt hormones

- Increase the risk of certain cancers

- Linked to infertility

- Cause allergic skin reactions & irritation

6. Triclosan & Triclocarban: Commonly used in anti-bacterial products, they:

- Interfere with thyroid function

- Create "super-germs", leading to bacterial resistance to antibiotics

- Weaken the immune system

- Alter sex hormones

- Are linked to birth defects

- Cause cancer

- In the environment and at home, combine with chlorine in tap water to produce dangerous chloroform and chlorinated dioxins (carcinogens)

Funny thing is, antibacterial soaps have not been found to be any more effective at killing germs than plain old soap and water.

7. Placenta: Placenta is added to some hair relaxers and is extremely high in hormones, mainly estrogen. Linked to premature breast and sexual development in young girls.

8. Hydroquinone: Banned in many countries, hydroquinone is a common ingredient in skin lighteners. It is a known carcinogen.

9. Diethanolamine (DEA): Found in almost all conventional soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions and cosmetics, DEA is readily absorbed by the skin and accumulates in the internal organs.

- Skin and eye irritant

- Causes impaired vision

- Linked to damage to the kidney, brain, spinal cord, bone marrow, liver and skin in animal tests

- Combines with common nitrate preservatives in cosmetics to form nitrosodiethanolamine (NDLA)-A potent carcinogen

10. Formaldehyde: Still used as a preservative in many cosmetics, face creams, shampoos, bubble bath, deodorants and nail products, causes:

- Eye, nose and throat irritation

- Coughing

- Asthma attacks

- Nausea

- Vomiting

- Nose bleeds

- Ear infections

- Headaches

- Dizziness

- Weakens the immune system

- Cancer in animal tests

The Yuko Hair Straightening system was created in Japan in 1996 by Yuko Yamashita, who is a stylist and salon owner. With her product she aimed to make people's lives easier when it came to dealing with their hair care system. As a stylist Yuko was constantly coming into contact with women who were unhappy with the behaviour of their hair. The most common complaint that she encountered was women with unruly hair that needed extra styling time in the morning in order to tame it. Women who were terrified of going out in the rain as the inclement weather would almost certainly transform their carefully styled locks into a frizzy mess. These were the sorts of women that Yuko wanted to help.

Women who suffer from unruly hair tend to spend hours and hours of time trying to smooth and straighten their hair, styling which is ultimately damaging their hair. Yuko wanted her customers to have beautiful, healthy hair without spending hours attempting to tame it to behave in such a way. Yuko decided to approach a Japanese sports, health and beauty company called Phitten and together they created Yuko Hair Straightening which proved revolutionary to hair styling across the world.

You wouldn't be blamed for wondering why of all the different races around the world, it would be a Japanese lady who created this revolutionary hair straightening system, after all aren't Japanese women known for their poker straight hair? Surely it would make more sense if a lady from Afro-Caribbean origins with typically Afro-Caribbean type hair had created such a product? The Japanese are thought to have naturally straight and quite fine hair; however this is not necessarily a true assumption. Contrary to popular belief, a high percentage of Japanese ladies have a natural kink or wave to their hair. After all, it was as a direct response to her client's complaints about their hair and its unruly behaviour that the Yuko Hair Straightening system was produced.

The special straightening process works by utilising collagen, keratin and silk proteins which penetrate the hair follicle. A hot iron is then used to promote heat oxidisation to leave the hair smooth, silky and manageable. The system is suitable for all types of hair but in particular it is beneficial on afro-hair as it leaves it straight and smooth, and on bleached hair that has been damaged by previous chemical treatments. The treatment does not only straighten and smooth the hair follicle; it also uses heat to restructure the hair's protein bond so in effect it repairs damaged strands leaving it healthier and more manageable than ever.

In Japan Yuko Hair Straightening is used in over 35,000 salons and it is also popular across the world. There are now more than 600 salons in the UK that offer the Yuko system as a treatment. It is such a popular hair treatment mainly because it provides the best possible base for your hair so that it can be styled in whatever way you like.

The Yuko Hair Straightening system goes against the idea that straightened hair is damaged hair as the process effectively rejuvenates the hair shaft so that it looks and acts healthier than it has ever before.

If you are interested in having the Yuko Hair Straightening system then there is no better place to have it done at Inanch salon in London. For more information click inanch.com/Services/Hair_Straightening/#Yuko here.

Hair loss is usually associated with old people, commonly seen on adult men but women can also be affected. It is considered a common problem especially true to those who are very conscious as to how they look. The loss of hair can indeed affect the appearance of a person. People who are experiencing hair loss usually have low self-esteem. But they do not have to worry anymore since a revolutionized product called Spectral RS for hair loss treatment uses a breakthrough technology that effectively delivers treatment to the hair.

Spectral RS is a Minoxidil-free formula used for hair loss treatment. It is considered the most advanced treatment for hair loss since it uses the nanosome technology to effectively deliver the compounds right into the cells that are being targeted. Ideally, Spectral RS is used to treat generalized thinning of hair on both men and women. It is also highly recommended for those who are seeking for an alternative treatment for Minoxidil, a known medication for hair loss treatment.

Spectral RS aims to improve hair follicle's nutrition, metabolism, and circulation. You can be assured that there are no harsh chemicals included in the ingredients; it does not even give out any foul smell when applied. Another good thing about it is that aside from treating the hair it also improves the condition of the scalp.

Spectral RS for hair loss treatment promises to give the best hair re-growth results. It is said that the combination of Spectral RS with the treatment for androgenic alopecia generates amazing results; although using Spectral RS alone cannot treat androgenic alopecia. Another condition called perifollicular fibrosis can be prevented by the use of Spectral RS.

DS Laboratories introduces the Nanosome Technology which is referred to as the most advanced technology used as a vehicle of the substances used for the treatment of hair loss; also considered as the next generation of liposome technology. This kind of delivery system became significant since Liposomes are known to be able to deliver both water and oil soluble medications. With the use of Liposomes, a microscopic vehicle very similar to that of a human cell membrane; transport and delivery of ingredients to the site of application are enabled. Any cosmetic that contains liposome when applied to any parts of the body starts combining with the membrane of the skin and starts releasing the ingredient deeply into the cell of the skin.

With constant use of this treatment, you will surely notice its effectiveness since falling hair will be drastically minimized; appearance and thickness of the hair will improve; fullness and increased density of hair will be achieved. Clinical trials have been made to support these claims. It showed that with the employment of this breakthrough transport technology system, positive and more effective results were achieved.

Certainly Spectral RS for hair loss treatment delivers amazing results. The introduction of the nanosome technology gave this treatment an edge against its competitors. It is the only hair loss treatment that uses this advance technology to effectively generate the best result for hair re-growth. It is truly a worthy and remarkable product to use; especially for those who have long been seeking for the best hair loss treatment on the market.

With summer just around the corner, it's time to shake off the winter blues and enjoy the sun as much as you can before the cold sets in again. School and college students would particularly look forward to this time off from the hectic schedule of studies. Summer means lazing around, long hours at the beach, or playing sports with friends. Wouldn't it be great if you could also have great looking hair throughout all this?

Summer hair care is all about keeping your hair hydrated, avoiding extended exposure to the sun, and keeping off from using excessive styling products. A lot of people tend to forget that the summer requires its very own care regimen, one that is quite different from how you would treat your hair in the winter. While winters are notorious for drying out hair, even summers can do so, what with the excessive heat and sun.

Use Protection

It is of prime importance that you use optimal protection when going out. If you have long hair, this means keeping it covered, or wearing it in buns, ponytails, etc. to avoid exposing your hair completely to the sun. Men can keep their hair protected by wearing hats.

There are hair specific protective sunscreens available on the market these days. These sunscreens should be applied 20-30 minutes before you go out in the sun and washed away afterwards. If you plan to spend long hours under direct sunlight, such as at the beach or playing sports, then a hair sunscreen is highly recommended.

On the topic of protection: if you are using hats, make sure that they fit snugly and are washed periodically. Hats are one garment that few people take the time to wash regularly, leading to buildup of sweat, dirt and grime. All this can play havoc with your scalp's sebaceous glands (the ones responsible for secreting oil), leading to excessively greasy hair. So remember to wash your hats frequently if you plan to wear them regularly.

Hydrate

One bit of universal advice that is also applicable when it comes to summer hair care: drink plenty of water. You can never go wrong with drinking extra water, so whenever you can, grab a glass or two. Don't limit yourself to the 8 glasses a day usually recommended. Drink 12, 16, 20, or even 40 glasses - extra water in your body will never hurt you, particularly in summers.

Besides drinking plenty of water, also make sure that your hair gets its daily hydration. This means using a high quality conditioner suited to your hair type. When it comes to choosing hair conditioners, experiment a lot with different brands to find the one that suits you perfectly. Pick up a few sample packs and try them over the span of a month. Keep in mind that pricier does not always have to mean better; often, cheaper conditioners might turn out to be much better than their expensive counterparts.

It is also a very good idea to use a hair moisturizer regularly. Apply the moisturizer at night and wash it off in the morning. Make it a part of your daily summer hair care regimen.

While we are on the subject of hydration and hair care for summer, remember to always use cold water for washing your hair. I know it is a foregone conclusion, but the importance of NOT using warm water for washing hair (as it strips the hair of moisture) can never be emphasized enough.

Other Summer Hair Care Tips

Always wear a cap if you are going out for swimming. Always wash your hair after you've taken a swim. Avoid heating your hair through flat-irons or curling-irons - it can lead to long term damage to your hair.

Also try to avoid excessive styling products, especially the ones containing alcohol and paraffin gel. Buy some natural, organic products instead. They may be slightly more expensive, but provide much better returns in the form of healthier hair.

Hair care for the summer essentially involves keeping the hair protected from the harsh sun, and keeping it hydrated and moisturized. Follow the above tips, and you will have gorgeous, shiny hair that will be the envy of everybody.

Alopecia or hair loss is never considered a bizarre phenomenon by almost all hair care specialists. This condition inevitably afflicts both men and women all over the world and that in some clinical investigations, hair lose also affects teenagers and some children.

Naturally, the human hair is made up of protein called keratin and the standard and hair growth cycle greatly depends on the form and functions of the hair fiber. It is believed that hair fibers are the only parts of the body that can be totally renewed without scarring.

There are many causes of thinning hair/baldness and one of the most prevalent is caused by genetic. This is predominant in males, though women are also targeted by this. The hair follicles of males are genetically sensitive to the effects of the hormone dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT is a derivative or by-product of the hormone testosterone which converts into a much stronger and potent hormone dihydrotestosterone with the aid of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme. DHT is a proven damaging chemical to the hair follicles, which makes them weaker and weaker then they eventually die, making all the hair to fall out from the scalp that leads to baldness. Other causes of thinning hair/baldness include malnutrition, hormonal disorders (in women), crash diet, strong medications, illnesses, and scalp infections.

Men's thinning hair/baldness is totally different from women. Men tend to show specific patterns on their heads such as the "M" or horseshoe patter at the front, and a bald spot is visibly seen at the top or crown area of the head. Female balding on the other hand is generally more of a thinning hair, which commonly occurs on the crown area of the head and thus preserving the hairline. This type of hair lose in women is also called diffuse hair thinning.

This also indicates that treatments for men's balding can also be different from women. Typically, men are treated with minoxidil topical solution with the concentration of 5 percent and a drug used everyday which is the finasteride pill. These two treatments both inhibit DHT production in the scalp and body respectively and are also thought to stimulate hair regrowth with aggravating side effects. Women are treated with minoxidil 2 percent topical solution and are not allowed to have an intake of the finasteride drug as it can provide teratogenic effects on a fetus. There are numerous hair treatments being offered nowadays and it is really important to pick the best, genuine and efficient one to avoid complications.

Today, LEIMO is the most sought-after hair loss treatment for both men and women that is widely utilized by many people. Leimo was originally marketed in Australia which is known for its purity, efficiency and potency. It has become a famous treatment and hence it has helped people improve their hair loss condition. Frizzy hair can be quite a bother for a person who wants a smooth and silky look.

The causes for this are plenty. Most often it is hereditary and in your genes. However, there can be other reasons as well such as negligence of the hair and not taking proper care. While some people love the curly and frizzy look, there are a lot of people who would like to have fully straightened hair with no curls at all.

One of the most important things to do in the straightening process is to use conditioner on your hair after you are done shampooing it. Conditioner will soften it and as a result make it easier to straighten and easier to de-tangle.

After washing you should blow dry and then brush your hair using a good bristled brush in such a way so as to de-tangle any knots which may have formed. This you should do to prepare for finally using a good hair straightening iron which completes the job of straightening evenly.

You can use a good rotating iron which will help you to get a celebrity look in the comfort of your own bedroom. A rotating iron is a hair straightening iron which is extremely safe as well as being very effective. This works by distributing the heat on your hair evenly and without causing over heating. Be careful of excessive heat as it can damage your hair, therefore a good rotating iron is one which will straighten by using heat evenly distributed.

The texture and growth patterns of hair in black men and women is decidedly different. Black hair tends to be thicker and the rate of growth is slower. At the same time, it is usually very voluminous, wavy, and has a natural shine to it. Using the right hair products for black women, you can preserve the natural good qualities of your hair and make it healthier, stronger, and more lustrous.

The number one rule for hair growth, regardless of race, region or weather is to keep it hydrated. The more moisture there is in your hair, the faster you will see it growing. This is true for black women as well. Since their rate of hair growth is lower, most hair products for black women tend to focus on keeping the hair appropriately hydrated and moisturized.

What is a good hydration or miniaturization product, you might ask?

Besides several salon products, which I will list separately, the best thing you can do for your hair right at home is to oil it before going to bed. I personally recommend a mixture of coconut, olive, jojoba, and if you can procure it, jasmine oil. This mixture will work wonders on your hair and scalp health. Apply a generous quantity before going to bed and wash it away in the morning. You will feel a very noticeable difference in the shine and bounce of your hair.

Caveat: if you cover your hair with a cap at night, I recommend using a silk cap rather than a cotton one. Cotton can pull at the scalp and hair roots, leading to breakage over time. Silk does not have these properties and is a much more suitable material.

The next point is to use a high quality moisturizer. I personally prefer Aveda products but I've found that they might not be appropriate for black women. A much better alternative would be Karen's Body Beautiful Deep Hair Conditioner. This works at scalp and roots, leaving you with luxurious, soft and naturally bouncy hair.

Besides a wash away conditioner, you can also opt to use a leave-in conditioner, though this is by no means a necessity. I prefer to use natural, organic products for this and recommend Oyin Handmade as well as Aveda's leave-in conditioners. These cover your scalp and hair with a protective protein that not only strengthens but also imparts volume and shine.

Another essential hair product for black women is not even a product, it's your diet itself. Excessively fatty food has your sebaceous glands working overtime, leading to greasy hair and scalp. Further, you need plenty of vitamins and minerals which are largely lacking in the average American diet. Therefore, I recommend using a multivitamin. The differences, not just in the health of your hair, but also in your skin and nails will be palpable.

Finally, make sure that you use a soft comb/brush and use it gently. I've seen far too many women plow through their hair leading to breakage. Avoid this unnecessary damage at all costs.

Essential oils are fundamental ingredients in hair care products. From sage to thyme and fenugreek, essential oil extracts developed from organic and natural sources, help to soothe the scalp, while promoting hair growth, moisturizing and adding body and manageability. Let's take a look at the more common essential oils for hair products.

Basil: Basil promotes growth by stimulating circulation and works well with fenugreek and ivy burdock herbs as well. Basil is used in many shampoos and conditioners that are designed for scalp health. Each shampoo that uses basil is designed to nurture the scalp while enhancing circulation to the root of the hair which brings much needed blood flow.

Burdock: Not too many hair care products carry burdock and that is a shame because it is so beneficial to the scalp and to proper hair growth. It helps with skin, scalp and hair cell renewal. It also helps to stimulate blood flow to the root of the hair. Burdock Root Essential oil is also supposed to help with hair loss in both men and women.

Chamomile: Chamomile is the most soothing of the essential oils for the hair and scalp and is included in a lot of shampoos or conditioners that are made for soothing the scalp. Chamomile helps to retract skin cells that have been inflamed from chemical procedures, the sun and helps with those that have scaly scalps in including a lot of white flakes or psoriasis. Specialty shampoos and conditioners that contain chamomile can help a number of scalp problems.

Fenugreek: Fenugreek has long been used for stimulating blood flow especially to minor capillaries such as those that feed the hair root. Fenugreek makes for a great topical application like in shampoos, conditioners and in hair tonics.

Fenugreek for hair care is an excellent choice especially for those that are having problems with hair growth. Fenugreek also compliments sage, clary sage, lemongrass, lemon peel, burdock and ivy extract.

Lavender can be used in any type of hair product as it does a good job of soothing the scalp and the hair. Many people that order baby shampoo with lavender as it helps to calm infants. Be very careful to only use lemon on hair that is too oily as this can seriously dry out the hair after just one washing or rinse.

Myrrh: Myrrh is not typically used in hair care products. If it is then Myrrh is typically used for those have greasy hair and those that want a more purified scalp. It is used in very small quantities.

Peppermint: Peppermint helps to stimulate blood flow to the root of the hair. This helps the hair to receive proper nourishment and to grow correctly. It is a great for hair that is growing slow or hair that is thinning. Peppermint makes the scalp tingle and this is what stimulates the blood flow to the hair. This stimulation can help with hair loss and thinning hair in women and men.

Rose Essential Oil: We love the smell of Rose and love the way that it feels in the hair but the only problem with rose for hair products like shampoo is that it costs a lot of money for rose essential oil.

Rosemary essential oil works great for dry hair and dandruff as well as itchy scalp! Effects: Refreshing, Stimulating. Aroma: Middle note. Scent: Refreshing, Woody, Herbal. Combines well with: Cedarwood, Geranium, Juniper

Sage is one of the best scalp clarifiers that is available from both natural and un-natural sources. It deep cleanses impurities away from the scalp and works well with other herbs to heal scalp problems such as scalp psoriasis and helps when used with zinc to end dandruff symptoms. It is one of the most effective oils to develop a healthyhairplus.com/Follicleanse-Shampoo-p/hhphhfosh012.htm dandruff shampoo.

Clary Sage native to southern Europe, but cultivated worldwide, esp. the Mediterranean region, is a stout biennial or perennial herb up to 1 meter high with large, hairy leaves, green with a hint of purple, and small blue flowers. The oil is obtained by steam distillation from the flowering tops and leaves. Though employed in ancient times and in the Middle Ages for its curative properties, it seems to have fallen into disuse as a medicinal plant, though revived to a certain extent towards the end of the nineteenth century. The English name Clary originates in the Latin specific name sclarea, a word derived from clarus (clear). This name Clary was gradually modified into 'Clear Eye,' one of the popular names and generally explained from the fact that the seeds have been employed for clearing the sight, being so mucilaginous that a decoction from them placed in the eye would 'clear' it from any small foreign body, the presence of which might have caused irritation.

Historically, clary sage has been highly esteemed and used for digestive disorders, kidney disease, uterine and menstrual complaints, acne, boils, dandruff, hair loss, oily skin, wrinkles, and general nerve tonic. The oil and absolute are used as fragrance components and fixatives in soaps, detergents, cosmetics and perfumes. It has mostly been employed in disordered states of the digestion, and has also proved useful in kidney diseases.

Clary sage blends well with: juniper, lavender, cilantro, pine, carsomon, geranium, sandlewood, jasmine, frankincense, and citrus oils. It is nontoxic, nonirritant and no sensitizing so it does not cause irritation when used in shampoos or skin care products.

Tea Tree Oil: Works daily to get to the heart of dandruff other scalp conditions that can be helped with Tea Tree oil as it works to purify the scalp. It is often included with Jojoba oil for hair as the two are used to deep cleanse the scalp. Tea tree oil works extremely good for those that suffer from scalp psoriasis and scalp dandruff.

Thyme essential oils and herbs for great hair! Thyme is often used is deep cleansing shampoo and works well when used with even the mildest cleansing agents. It works well when combined with other anti oily scalp products such as Thyme and sage. Yling Ylang can be combined with herbs as well for a desired anti dandruff shampoo.

Ylang ylang is a tall tropical tree up to 20m high with large, tender, fragrant flowers, which can be pink, mauve or yellow. The yellow flowers are considered best for the extraction of essential oil. Ylang Ylang is from the first part of the distillation process, and is considered by most to be the best. This essential oil has properties: aphrodisiac, anti-depressant, anti-infectious, antiseborrheic, antiseptic, euphoric, hypotensive, nervine, regulator, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory), tonic. Historically, it has been used for cosmetic and hair care, skin diseases, to prevent fever and fight infections. Is also used to soothe insect bites. Ylang Ylang blends well with lavender, sandalwood, rosewood, jasmine, vetiver, opopanax, bergamot, mimosa, cassie and rose. It is non-toxic, non-irritant and a few cases of sensitization have been reported.

So, there is a good summary and gives you a little bit of helpful "ammunition" next time you might stop to look at the ingredients of your favorite hair care product. All told, healthyhairplus.com hair care is the sum of its ingredients and effectiveness is often a result of a combination of ingredients that help dry hair oily or greasy hair, hair growth and general hair health.

When it comes to growing black hair long there are some myths that are floating out there that are simply not true. The thing that is frustrating the most is that black tresses are somehow different than white locks. In that it is remarkably genetically different. This is simply not true, black hair is healthy hair and whiles it can be dryer than most, it does not mean it needs an extraordinary different treatment. Fact is healthy black long tresses come about from healthy hair care and treatment. This means if you keep your mane healthy, it will grow healthy and fast. Black mane issues arise because of the chemical product used on it. Nothing more and nothing less. And that is why it appears to grow slower. So in this article I will debunk a few myths about growing black long hair

Myth 1: Cutting hair makes it grow faster. Hair is dead. Otherwise, it would hurt when you cut it. There is nothing you can do to your hair strands that will make it grow faster. It is true that cutting your tresses will make them look healthier as you are getting rid of the split and brittle ends. While getting a cut twice a year will improve the overall look of your hair, it does not make it grow faster.

Myth 2: Black hair is stronger than other hair types. The internal structure of black hair actually makes is more susceptible to breakage than any other hair type. If black long hair is chemically relaxed this adds to the possibility of breakage. Protein and moisture treatments should be used to rebuild the structure of relaxed hair and minimize breakage.

Myth 3: Brushing your hair makes it grow faster. Brushing your hair excessively can actually lead to breakage, especially when hair is relaxed.

Myth 4: Greasing your scalp is good for moisture. If you have noticed that your hair is dry even though you are using a variety of moisture products on it, the reason is that grease, oils, and other moisturizing products that contain petrolatum, lanolin, and mineral oil do not moisturize your hair effectively. Instead of moisturizing, they actually seal moisture in or out of your hair. If you choose to use these product on your tresses make sure you use them to seal your tresses and to add shine

The best product you can use for growing black long hair would be a product called Mira hair oil. This is true because it has growth herbs and it is also 100% natural. Used as a deep treatment it will get your mane to grow longer

These 4 myths are some of the myths surrounding the growth of black hair that are simply not true. Fact is, you want to treat your tresses with respect and they will grow. Think of it as your body and how you would take steps to look after it. If you treat it well it will how faster and healthier. No matter what race or type of hair you have

"Shakespeare" - the name usually inspires thoughts of kings, fairies and wars. He was a poetic genius of par excellence, Of course who could forget Romeo and Juliet, as if they are bond together for eternity. But did you know that Shakespeare was suffering from 'syphilis', it was a common disease five centuries ago. One of the treatments for syphilis was inhalation of mercury vapor which had other side effects like Hair Loss.

Luckily you don't have to worry and get frustrated at your problem of Hair Loss. Unlike Shakespearean era there is a solution to it now. Let me get the first things straight about hair loss

1) DIET & NUTRITION

Believe it or not -Actual overall health of your hair is mainly determined by your diet intake and not by what simply applied by you externally,(Remember your hair is make up of dead Proteins) Yes its true The much hyped so called specialist shampoo's improve your current state of hair problem, but does not cure that problem, because there are very few genuine products nowadays that address this problem...So if you are looking for cure and not quick fix you need good healthy diet.

A diet that is rich in proteins and vitamins, but more importantly one which is available readily what i mean is that, i am not going to recommend some exotic food which you don't have access to and way too expensive to include in your daily diet.

* Just start with simple food like Fish, Eggs, Beans and Yogurt which are rich in proteins so include these in your diet. * Soy protein (tofu) has also been found to be helpful in stimulating hair growth. * Protein rich milk shakes etc...

Here is the list of supplements you need to intake daily in order to have healthy hair

* Vitamin B-complex - 50 mg. (including folate, biotin and inositol)

* Vitamin B-6 - 50 mg.

* Vitamin C 1-2 Gms with bioflavonoids

* Vitamin E - 400 to 800 IU daily

* Beta-Carotene - 10,000 to 15,000 IU (Beta-carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits especially ripen mangoes)

* Magnesium, sulfur, zinc

* Silica (horsetail) - 300 mg. daily

* Nettle - 250 mg. three times daily

* Flaxseed oil - one tbsp daily or one tablet

(IU-International Units)

Even though you may have started intake of these supplements you also need to cut down on excessive stress and some medications are conclusively known to retard hair growth.

2) HORMONES

The leading cause of Hair loss is scientifically proven to be DHT or dihydrotestosterone, a hormone that tends to attach itself to your hair follicles and other receptor sites. Finally, your hair follicles get bound and weak thus resulting in loss of hair and baldness.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment of thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day. But with about 100,000 hairs in the scalp, this amount of hair loss shouldn't cause noticeable change in your scalp.

3) TIPS TO REDUCE HAIR LOSS

Here are tips to improve overall Health of hair:

1.  Quit or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential.

2. Eat a healthy diet.  Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.

3. Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace (for women). Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling.

4. Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.

5. Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.

6. Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft.

7. Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier.

8. Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.

9. Massaging your scalp several times a day improves the blood circulation in your scalp area. As a direct result, the improved blood flow in the scalp area helps the transfer of oxygen and other growth promoting nutrients to the hair follicles. This will directly help you achieve healthier and thicker hair volume.

Here are some do's and don'ts you need to follow specially for delicate and dry hair..

Do's

* Sleep on a satin pillowcase if your hair is especially delicate.

* Use detangling spray and a wide-tooth comb on damp hair - wet hair is more delicate

DON'TS

* Try not to sleep with your hair tied back. Leave your hair down as often as possible at night to prevent breakage.

* Don't rip at tangles in your hair with a brush. Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle hair when wet and a vent brush to remove any snags on dry hair.

Unfortunate for Shakespeare if these tips was known back in his time, he would have looked very different from what you all people see him in his portrait today.
